Stan James. Palace to be top London club in group B out of west ham, Fulham, Palace 5-1.

That's worth a few quid.

13-8 to stay up with stan James is getting hammered. Most popular bet at the moment.

Any others?

I can see Fulham struggling but not West Ham, I think the price is about right at the moment. I would be more tempted to go for Stoke relegation 4.5 with B365 or Norwich relegation 3.75 with VC.

For Palace bets you can get us at top promoted team at 4.9 on Betfair which I think is a better price than the Top London bet.

4.9 does seem decent, can see that market being very volatile once the season begins and us going much shorter than that (overly optimistic perhaps)

If you are going to bet above Fulham, West Ham etc. take the top 10 @ 10, that's the standard these teams are at, Fulham are solid, West Ham could bounce, 4.7 top promoted team is attractive.

Help me out here.

Flush with my success of backing Palace to get promoted last August at 44/1 I want to have another crack.

Palace are varied to win the Prem. At the moment I see 10000/1 on a number of places down to 600/1. These look like early season odds prior to the arbitrage and if Betfair is anything to go by the odds currently look around 1000/1.

So how do I capture the 9000/1 difference?

You need to be very flush!!

Get someone to match a 100 lay at 1000.0 on Betfair, requiring you to have a 10,000 bank tied up for 9 months, though that is probably more likely than you being matched at 1000.0 for serious money

Once matched back them at 10,000/1 for 90 and you're guaranteed 10 profit :)

The Standard printed the fixtures of all the Premier League teams yesterday. For us they had 'man to watch' Jed, and odds to win the league 10,000/1.

You can currently get 9/2 for us to beat Tottenham opening day.

Yes I think that's a good price and posted it on the betting thread.

I would be very surprised if on match day we didn't at least reach 7 on betfair.

I saw that. Hull City & Cardiff City were both 5000/1.
That means that they are twice as good as Palace.
I love the Evening Standard. I wish I could still pay for it as it's such an excellent read.

My only criticism of the Standard is that 'Big' Sam Allardyce should have a daily column instead of a weekly one, and there should be more ads for Wet Hamster season tickets telling us that they are 'more than a football club'.

Just done a tenner at 28/1 on Palace to reach Europe for a League Finish or cup competition win.

Dwight Gayle is value at 399/1 to be top scorer at betfair.
Some early goals would see this price tumble and leave decent profit.
You can get 250/1 at Coral if you fancy an ew?

I was successful last season with the 66/1 on Glen Murray and had an ew on AJ at 150/1 in our last prem season so love a top scorer bet!

Is Dwight English? Could be worth a punt as the top goal scorer for an English man in the premier.

It sounds good value for Dwight Gayle, but I'm sure I read somewhere Holloway is going to use him as a wideman cutting inside. If true I doubt he'll be banging in goals left right and center.

There's often little liquidity in these markets on BF and even if the does score goals, there may be difficulty in laying off. I had Glenn Murray as top scorer and had to watch as Rhodes slowly caught him off, though had backed at big odds, was never enough to trade out until the last game of the season.

I liked the bet to finish best of the promoted teams that was about 5.6, now around 4, and top 10 @ 24 which is now 12.

Just left and right then.

Really a lot of optimistic punters here! Would take a miracle for us to survive without some massive signings, in my opinion.

Better odds before we make the massive signings though :p

As a punter I was absolutely certain Reading would go down last year. They had a championship squad without a single premiership game-changer in the team. Without Zaha we are in an even weaker position than they were last season.

We should be about 1 - 4 to go down. But we are Palace so who knows

West Ham finished 10th with an average squad, plenty of average teams around the bottom half of the premiership.

I took top promoted club (9/2) and top out of West ham Fulham palace (5-1) so I'm still in the running on both but need a win at west ham in all likely hood to have a chance of palace getting above Hull and WH.

Hull may have a cup final to play in so may take their eye off the ball. And west ham have a tough run-in other than us and west brom away.

Suffice to say, today I will mostly be supporting Liverpool.

I also have top promoted club, and top out of Wham and Fulham.

Gayle and Chamakh top scorer........

Jedinak e/w to be worst disciplined player.

And took the Handicap at +51. One or two wins and we have a shout at getting a place!

Might have to look at Palace to be relegated now the odds have drifted out to big prices as a cover option, not that I believe for one minute we will be relegated :p

Can we win on the handicap? Had top promoted side for 72, 200 more if we finish top 10.

Corals paid me out on top promoted side despite the fact that hull can still mathematically catch us. :D
