Benfica striker Nélson Oliveira is set to move to England in the coming weeks.

A Bola says Oliveira is not in the first team plans of Benfica coach Jorge Jesus and has offers from England.

The striker, who will be available for loan, is interesting Tottenham and Crystal Palace.

Not sure about this as all I could find was Cardiff was battling Tottenham for him. Last year he was linked with Man United.

Hasn't scored enough in his career - would be a dangerous move for us to bring in someone who doesn't look to have shone anywhere at senior level yet. Would only be good as a back-up option on loan.

But plays for Benfica, Dep La Coruna (on loan) and 10 caps for Portugal.

Nelson Oliveira showed up yesterday, after taking holidays (was summoned to the National Team and was allowed to arrive later, like other international) but should not stay long to train with the squad: the advanced should head to a club in the Premier League, England on loan. contacts are advanced and SAD will not oppose the eventual departure of the Portuguese international for 21 years (on a temporary assignment, never outright), since the coach Jorge Jesus, not Nelson Oliveira puts in lot of first choices for attack. Remember that the player was granted to A Coruña (Spain) in 2012/13.

Could be perfect foil for gayle and just cos he doesn't find net often doesn't mean he's not a great link player etc.

I don't think Gayle could grow a beard if he tried.

Pretty sure he featured for Portugal a few times off the bench in Euro 2012?

Normally you would assume that makes him a top striker, but he was kept out of the side by Helder Postiga, so maybe not.

Just checked who his agent is and it's none other than Jorge Mendes i.e. the guy who sold Bebe to Man U for 6-7 million i.e. I hope our club never has to deal with that shark

this story is probably bs anyway

He must be a promising player having played 10 games for Portugal at the age of 21yo. Maybe the statistics doesn`t tell how many minute he have played, maybe most of them come from substitute-apparences? His goalscoring at U20 and U21 for Portugal stated 1 goal every second match.

I like the new attitude searching for young promising players to strengthen the squad :):p

http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1456144/nelson-oliveira-apologises-teammates-poor-attitude?cc=5901
After entering as a late substitute, Oliveira scored Depor's clinching goal before celebrating by 'hushing' his own fans and pushing away colleagues who rushed to congratulate him.

Even though the result lifted Depor out of the relegation zone with just two games to go, Spanish TV cameras picked out the striker angrily refusing to celebrate with his teammates on the final whistle or join them in acknowledging the support from the Riazor stands. 24 hours later, after speaking with coach Fernando Vazquez, he said he regretted at least some of his actions.
Not clapping the fans, that's him out.

The agent did his job?

It's Man Utd who should be more embarrassed by that deal.

He has also worked with with José Mourinho, Luiz Felipe Scolari, Carlos Queiroz, Simão Sabrosa, Anderson, Fábio Coentrão, Pepe, Ángel Di María, Cristiano Ronaldo, Radamel Falcao, Ricardo Carvalho, Nani, Ricardo Quaresma, Burak Yılmaz, João Moutinho, James Rodríguez and Víctor Valdés.

Is it not possible Man U just ****ed up?

Is it not possible Man U just ****ed up?

1. He's not Burak's agent

2. Here's a quote which shows why he's a "shark". I never said Man U didn't **** this up, they did, but it shows how this guy operates:

Bébé's agent, appointed days before he moved to United, was Jorge Mendes, also agent to Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and Anderson, who moved from Portuguese clubs to Old Trafford in previous seasons. Of the €9m United paid to Vitória for Bébé, Mendes was paid 40%, €3.6m (£2.89m). It was reported in Vitória's subsequent general meeting that Mendes's €3.6m comprised a 10% agent's commission, €900,000, and the further €2.7m because Mendes had also just acquired 30% of Bébé's "economic rights", part-ownership of the player.

3. you'll have to do with google translate for this one: http://csifutebol.wordpress.com/2011/10/03/quality-football-ireland-jorge-mendes/

4. He's nasty and I hope we don't deal with him ever

They also got relegated.

Its actually mental. Every year Spurs will go out and spending shit loads of on keepers, defenders, midfielders yet never really have a top striker.

Literally cant wait to see Delaney have Adebayor in his pocket.

Nelson Oliveira looked to be heading to Cardiff earlier this week before Stoke reportedly hijacked the move with a late bid for the striker, according to the Daily Mirror.

Cardiff have been in negotiations with the player for most of the week but it is thought that Stoke have outbid them in the last 24 hours.

The 21-year-old is available on a season-long loan, with parent club Benfica hoping the striker can continue his development with a season of regular football in the Premier League.

Stoke are said to have offered in the region of £860,000 to take the Portuguese international for the season.

So, pretty much a b.s. rumour that came about because somebody wanted to type Cardiff and typed Crystal Palace instead. The OP should be ashamed of himself.

To put a bow tie on this one, signed on loan at Rennes with an option to buy. Unfortunate, because that beard would really fit into our team well. Attila's chances with us were doomed when he shaved the beard.
