Any ideas on when these tickets will be released for sale? With the distance issue it would be nice to get the tickets purchased before buying hotels/trains..

Thanks!

Normally a month before the game. I don't think tickets will be a problem.

Newcastle is a great place to visit but although it's only a couple of hours for me I'm really put off by the terrible away end. Truly the worst in the country.

Not suitable for those who suffer from vertigo. Sunderland is better and much closer to the pitch.

Sadly not the case any more Stephen :(

Sunderland also now stick away fans 'up in the gods'. :( (not quite as high as Newcastle, but still quite lofty)

"Away fans are now housed in the Upper Tier of the North Stand at one end of the stadium, where around 3,000 fans can be housed. Although the facilities are fine in this area, you do have to climb a large number of flights of stairs to reach this top tier"

Hi Steve, I live up in the North East and have been told that the away supporters at Stadium of Light have been moved to a similar position to the away support at St James's, ie right up in the stand to the left as the teams come out of the tunnel.

Thanks for the (bad) news! I

That's a shame but I'm sure that our fans will be heard wherever they are.

We have complained to the Premier a League about this and said that we believe that all away fans should be positioned at pitch-side.

Sunderland on sale now, Newcastle as soon as we receive the tickets.

Good allocations, no restrictions.

Surely in this day and age the clubs are obliged to provide seating to away fans that aren't able to climb this number of stairs or at least access to the section via a lift or what have you?

Sunderland booked the day trip! Newcastle I'm up for the weekend! Great away games next month possibly 4 if Everton rearranged for March!

Good job I work for myself!

Yes, anyone who has difficulties should speak to Pam who is the coordinator for disabled fans in the box office. She can check what special facilities the home club provides.

At Newcastle there is a lift that can be used. When you arrive at the turnstyle simply ask the steward if you can use the lift and give brief reason why you need it. I have used the lift the last three visits and intend to again. Ask before entering the ground and they should point you to the turnstyle to use.

At Sunderland believe they also have a lift but may not take you to the level required but would cut down number of steps required. Not having been in that part of ground before I dont know how you go about using the lift but assume ask a steward and they will arrange it

Cheers, thanks for that. Useful to know for next season! (Train tixs will be too much now I'm sure)

No, but we will do something again for Everton when rearranged

It's not so much the steps (although I do have a dodgy knee), it's the height and the fact most will be standing.

I couldn't even't take standing at the back of Readings ground and having been to Newcastle before, I know I'd never be able to do it.

I'm a wuss :(

Any idea on the likely cost?

Football Ground Guide gives it as below

Like a number of Clubs, Newcastle operate a ticket category system (A,B & C) whereby the most popular games cost more to watch. Prices are shown below with Category B & C prices shown in brackets.

Away Fans:
Sir John Hall Stand
Adults: 36 (B 30) (C 26)
Over 65's & Full Time Students 31 (B 25) (C 21)
Under 18's 18 (B 15) (C 13)

I think it's going to be something like 26. Not expensive but thd seats are upper, upper tier and it costs a lot to get there.

Or 20 return if you took the risk for the train!!

Decent pricing, even if we are sat on the moon watching it

Hi Steve,

Can ST holders buy more than 1 ticket tomorrow morning?

We have 7 ST's between us but 10 of us are going for the weekend.

Thanks
