Hi Steve and Co.,

You've probably heard may similar or worse/better feats than this, but thought you might be interested to hear how 6 mad eejits got on this Saturday for the WBA trip.

Flight from Dublin was due in to Gatwick at 13:30 and we tried twice to land around 14:00, but aborted and went on to Stansted, landing there around 14:30.

By the time we were out checking taxi prices to SE25 (£150!!!, the Stansted Taxi monopoly is sickening) it was Kick-Off time and, instead of waiting around for hours for Ryanair to bus us to Gatwick (see no play at all), 6 of us corralled and booked an Opel Zafira (7 seater) and belted round the M25 in order to catch the last 15 minutes of the match.

With some fun haggling with the Swansea supporting Enterprise Car clerk, we got the price down a lot and it worked out cheaper than trains form Stansted would have been.

Just seeing Murray on the pitch for a few minutes (receiving and holding up play for midfielders coming in to attack) and Jules pulling off a couple of routine saves (and fitting in 90 minutes worth of singing in to 15 minutes!) made it all worth it!

Anyhow, we're not really mad, but a special mention to my co-eejits that day (2 youngsters form Portadown, a fella from Kilkenny, 1 from Carlow and a Dub) who showed the lengths that people go to regularly for footy/Palace.

All the best,

Patrick
