Someone had to didn't they? So,...

How many tickets did we ask NUFC for?

How many have we sold?

Will it be put on General Sale if there are plenty left and all members have had a fair chance to secure their tickets? Say, by March 7th for example...?

We have 2300 but I think that we can get another 700 if we need them.

Yes, once Season ticket holders and members have had a go they will probably go on general sale.

Selling well. 1600 so far - compared to 900 for Sunderland which, to my mind, is a more important game.

I tend to agree. However this was always likely to be the case for one or other of the fixtures with them being so close together.

We have had a few fixtures this season that have lead to us having a much smaller away following than would normally be the case (Villa on boxing day, Everton midweek and this).

Do the club express their opinions on this kind of thing to appropriate authorities? If so what sort of response do you get?

There's nothing we can do about the fixtures unfortunately.

There's nothing we can do about the fixtures unfortunately.

That wasn't really the question. The question was do the clubs raise their concerns about how the fixtures are decided? There are clearly factors that are taken into consideration when the fixtures are generated and judging by the highlighted examples. Supporters aren't one of them. Surely this is a complaint that should be taken more seriously by the league?

Yes we do but I don't think the fixtures computer has supporter travel arrangements as a high priority - or maybe as any priority at all.

I have been on at the PL about making it clear on their web site about when kick off times are confirmed as going ahead at 3pm Saturday - or changed. They are working on this to give fans as much notice as possible.

Most PL clubs offer us tickets on a "sale or return basis" if we take a small allocation but make us pay for them all on a "sale only" basis if we take the full allocation.

I would recommend all those listed in the article (except Trent, but that is because I haven't visited). Top 3 would be Free Trade Inn, Broad Chare (get a scotch egg and bowl of crispy pig ears), and the Bridge Tavern. Pleased to Meet You is a great choice if you have the other half in tow.

If you fancy unspoilt pubs, try the Crown Posada on Dean St/Side - it's pretty small though, and a group of four can make the place feel crowded.

Also near Central Station and en route to the ground is Head of Steam (a bit dingy and uninspiring inside but great beer), the Centurion (really nice inside, but not great beer), Tilleys (very good beer selection, but more aimed at imported lagers than real ales). The Telegraph, just behind the station is a good little boozer (and my local).

As for the Wetherspoons, The Union Rooms is alright, it is a very impressive building; however, The Milecastle is well worth a dodge, unless you are a Wetherspoons groupie.

Apologies if this has been covered already, but just wondering?

Are these remaining tickets for Sat 22nd March on a sale only basis? i.e. whether we give them back to NUFC or not, CPFC will still be charged for them? And if CPFC are being charged for them, how much are they being charged? Would it be 27 per unsold ticket or an average price across all the tickets CPFC did sell? (E.g. 60% are adults, 20% are kids, 20% are OAPs which produces a per ticket cost of circa 18)

I think someone might have alluded to the following before, but why not "sell" a mix of OAP/Junior/Adult tickets to the very very big "Smith" family and then distribute them willy nilly a far and asunder to whoever wants them at whatever price they can afford (as long as they're not NUFC fans).

At the very least, it would avoid CPFC being charged 27 per ticket (if that's the case) as the "Smith" family average ticket price is around 18.

Maybe stop in Sunderland on the way up and give a load of tickets out to Mackems. Maybe they'd pay a tenner each to come and sing with the Palace against their local foes!

We'll wait and see how it's looking tomorrow morning.

The situation is that if you take the final block (which we felt we had to do as we had sold out the original blocks) then you have to pay for 50% of the seats in it whether you sell them or not.

Don't think Sunderland will want us winning at Newcastle given their position.
I still cannot get my head round us having to travel that far twice in 7 days, I know loads that could only do one of the two games. Think we would have sold more if they were further apart.

Feel free to not publish this on the forum!

The idea of diverting the coaches to Sunderland to hand out tickets in the streets to Sunderland supporters may possibly have been inspired by narcotics but we will see how many tickets are left over that we are obliged to purchase and come up with something.

Gotta say though, 2,500 going is a fantastic turn out for such a long journey and also the fact that is kinda only 50/50 whether they will have a goal to cheer or not. Really good.

Why don't you sell the tickets on the day from coach 1?

Just to complete the full circle on this one, how many did we sell in the end?

And how many are we dishing out to Mackems along the way?

I was in the directors box at Swansea in the first half but went in the away end at half time. It wasn't Tony changing tactics, it was me that sorted out the turn-around ;)

It looks like we sold exactly how many we needed to sell to avoid having to pay for a load of unsold tickets.

2500 sold (the HF bought 40 this morning).

Not a sell-out but a fantastic turnout by Palace fans for such a long trip.

Up here and waiting to see the eagles shut up both Catermole and Johnson by attacking Newcastle this weekend!!

One more away ticket left to buy, Fulham then done a full season bar UTD away when I was in Florida!!

It's getting exciting now!

Looking forward to being part of the Red & Blue army at St James tomorrow really impressed that we sold 2,500, the support last weekend was good from the 1300 or so who made the journey, some Mackems I know were impressed with the noise we made last week. COYP

Steve. I've got my ticket for tomorrow but now need another. Box office is shut so need advice. We are travelling from Scotland so can't swing past box office on way. Any chance at all of meeting someone at st James's and buying one without having to take our chances with touts. Don't want my mate wasting money on a train ticket for nothing. Cheers

Well done all. And also great effort by the HF who are mostly younger guys and I know they struggle to afford many away games. How comes they bought this morning? Leaving it late for 40 people!!

Can't you sell more off coach 1 at the game and put it on the website saying you are doing it?

The coaches will leave before the ticket office opens in the morning. In my experience there is almost always someone with a spare ticket because a mate couldn't make it.

Maybe Newcastle will sell your mate a ticket in the home end then he can transfer to the away end.

Try asking on the tickets thread if anyone has a spare

Fair play for standing for so much of the journey home ;) even more amusing having one of the other owners Sat opposite pretending to be asleep before being ousted from Joe Jordan's seat when QPR got on at Darlington. The bobble hat was amazing. I love this club

Spot on - my top 3 too

At least I won us the half time "Zorb" race against the Newcastle guy, did you see it ?

Yes, a good performance against very good opposition. We really deserved a point.

Sorry I missed your race, too busy eating prawn sandwiches to my shame.

Nice one Fareham! Your last ditch dive for the finish line up our end was top draw.

The Bodega had some great beers on draught - Oakham Citra and Fyne Jarl were my favourites. Lots of Palace in there including Brummie Allan, Pistol Knight and Nobby all the way from LA.

Haha, as I was coming back up to our end the hole where you get in worked its way round from the side to the bottom of the Zorb and was battling against falling down it, until near the end where my legs where like jelly I couldn't help but fall down it. I saw him catch me up and though **** this I'm diving for the line! wasn't losing it at that point for nobody. Hahaha :lux:

We made it into there as well, great to see so many Palace and good beer - cheap too! Just got back home this afternoon (France). Knackered and pointless, but a great weekend other than the last minute of the game :(

The bodega was the only plus point of my 19hr round trip. was fine to get served in there at 12noon, but bugger me after the game I walked back out again.
