why can't we purchase the kit from other sporting outlets across the country so annoying that everything is in the club shop, would be a wider scope not just for palace fans but new fans who see us in the prem on tv

Because retailers take all the profit and want stock on sale or return so would have the right to return unsold stock when it's past its sell-by date.

Anyone, anywhere in the world can order a Palace shirt on the internet, it's not difficult. On line is the future and we can do that ourselves.

Steve all valid points.

But... Surely now more than ever we are in position where we need to market ourselves as much possible. Would a couple hundred shirts (total) in Sports Direct in Croydon/Bromley/Sutton really hurt us ? Kids sizes especially. Don't forget our very own Steve Parish went for Palace because he liked the kit - I just wonder if that floating 10 year old boy from Croydon/Sutton might just go for the Chelsea shirt even though he likes Palace because he can spend his birthday money there and then. Lets face it their turgid Blue or our glorious Red and Blue stripes is no contest :love::love:

As you know, the black one is sold out but the yellow one that we wore last night and at Cardiff is still available I think.

The new away shirt will be available to buy when the club takes over the ownership of the club shop in June.

That's the rub.

It's not about stocking shirts in the Arndale, it's about the local area and visibility.

And a few thousand pounds of stock is surely the way...

Will they be in stock in June?

Who owns the rights to replicate a kit Steve, is it the club or is it the manufacturer?

Given the success and the diabolical service from Just Sport if the club owns the template could they just do a re-run on them next year without their logo and the same with older kits?

This, makes me sick seeing all the clubs available in SportsDirect in Croydon....I have even seen Fulham in there!

As a marketing guru surely SP is aware of brand awareness and presence v sales?

A few hundred in Croydon/Bromley would be great

Also, some people prefer to try it on rather than order a Large on the net

Surely now, with the bulk of the money coming from SKY this is a chance to promote the club, even see it as a loss, lets get the brand out there

All true. But we are also currently in the biggest league in the world watched by billions of people. Palace should be using this opportunity to market themselves at every opportunity.

The head of marketing should be all over every major sports shop in the country trying to get them to stock our shirts at the moment.

I'll pass all these thoughts and suggestions on to Mike and Sharon.

That's true enough, a friend of mine owns two local sports shops and has tried for ages to get Palace shirts in. He often gets local people dropping by on the spur of the moment asking for shirts but has to turn them away - he'd love to be able to put one in the window!

Agree with this wholeheartedly. Having a presence in these shops, particularly at the moment with us in the Prem, would surely outweigh any loss made from over ordering/returns.

I feel so disappointed when i walk into sports shops near where i live in Crawley and see Brighton shirts but no Palace.

There's a great Specialist Football Shop in Adelaide that was stocking our kits in December! AUS$ 90 a shirt.
