Come on Australia. Most of the teams I've backed so far have lost so they won't thank me for it. Apart from Italy that is.

On my way to mates pub to watch game. So of course there is signal failure. Hopefully we won't go 2-0 down early again.

We shouldn't, if that were true, which it's not.
He was convicted of causing death by dangerous driving.

Causing death by street racing, personally his actions have 100% led to the death of someone. To me that's murder, but I'm not sure what the actual letter of the law states.

I think we can all agree that 240 hours community service for that is unacceptable.

Murder you have to intend to kill someone. Pretty sure Kluivert didn't go out with intent to kill.

That'll be the Coach Ange Postecoglou.... He wants every team he coaches to play like Barcelona. Great coach, perfectionist ideology... Aus will definitely get better and better under him. Was totally spewing when he got the job and left Melbourne Victory.

Great showcase on what the A league is now producing in this country as most of those players learnt their trade there.

Asian Championship in Aus in two years... So onwards and upwards.

Why did the player try to chest it in? :confused:Honestly don't think Leckie had the time to get his head on it. Poor judgement by Oar in my view, really should have shot instead of providing Leckie with a fairly difficult ball to deal with. Caught in the headlights moment for Oar I think. Duly punished up the other end 30 seconds later.

Well done aus. Hate losing but I'm sure we gained some respect from our past two performances.
Timmy cahill's goal was absolutely sublime. Wish he played for palace....

For mine, the game really got interesting on about 81 mins
when Craig Foster had a microphone malfunction.

One of the best games of the tournament and but for goalkeeping error could well have ended up with a massive shock. I hope the Aussie public aren't too hard on the team. They've been fantastic for all but twenty minutes this world cup and if they had a top class finisher could well have six points.

What's Tim Cahill - a block of flats?
Needed to be better defensively

Great match, playing much better football now under Ange. Still a bit of inexperience there but that just takes time. Our defence was ordinary but so was theirs. Seeing Ange has only had the team for half a dozen matches or so, it will be interesting what he can do in another 4 years. Glad Mile took the pen, geez he gave it something too!

Well worth repeating Kayjay. One positive about Aus going out is you won't have to listen to him waffling on.

Wasn't Kluivert, like his compatriot Van Persie, once up on a sex charge which was mysteriously dropped amid rumours of £££££££?
Not heard that, myself.

Causing death by street racing, personally his actions have 100% led to the death of someone. To me that's murder, but I'm not sure what the actual letter of the law states.

I think we can all agree that 240 hours community service for that is unacceptable.
The letter of the law is quite important when it comes to murder. He killed someone, yes, as a result of his selfish and irresponsible behaviour. That's not the same as murder in English law (and, I would assume, in Dutch law too).

Agree. Someone to support Cahill and a more experienced defender. Keeper has had two pretty average games as has McGowan the right back.
Positives are davidson and leckie, both been fantastic. Bozanic looks quite lively also. Futures not bad but what happens when Cahill pulls the pin, where do the goals come from...

Robbie Kruse is pretty useful, possibly more so than than all the other youngsters bar Leckie. He may well have been the missing link in these two games. Shame he was out injured.

As for an out and out goal scorer... someone will surface.

Yeboah probably has a few years before he will probably be on Ange's radar. Certainly miss having Kruse though, you could technically play him in Cahill's role but play to his feet and not his head.

Craig Foster's commentary was an absolute disgrace against Chile and only marginally better against the Dutch. I'm hoping the producer informed him after the first game to pull his head in. Thankfully his microphone malfunctioned near the end of the 2nd game.

The primary issue is that he's not used to being a match commentator, even in the role of "special comments". His role at SBS for years has been as studio pundit, with a self-appointed specialty in strategy/tactics, and he just doesn't appreciate the difference with match commentary - so in the Chile game, he dominated the airwaves, talking continually over the top of the main commentator Basheer, and talking tactics, formations, movements ad nauseum. More than one Twitter complainant described his lecturing style as similar to an under 12s coach. His other failing has been his totally biased, 100% Aussie cheering style. Enthusiasm is one thing; a one-sided perspective continually describing "his" boys by first name only is simply unprofessional. Huge contrast with indefatigable Martin Tyler's commentary on the England games.

There's a chasm that's opened up between the respective panels of experts from the public broadcaster SBS and the private Foxtel. Presumably the budget for the latter is far greater - they boast Simon Hill, far and away the best commentator, Andy Harper - enthusiastic, but informed and sensible, Adam Peacock - a consummate professional as host and Robbie Slater - opinionated but bearable. Mark Bosnich is the odd one out - a "big" and it seems popular personality, but with an over-inflated opinion of himself.

Over at SBS, sadly these days it's amateur hour. Les Murray, a great servant to Australian football going back even to the 1970s, should have retired after the last World Cup. Craig Foster as pundit is over-opinionated and prone to meltdown. David Basheer as main commentator is boring, bland, monotone. But where SBS has failed the most has been with its "expert" panel. As host, David Zdrilic has as much personality as a postage stamp; Zelkjo Kalac (no-one thinks I was a better keeper than I do) is arrogant, Ned Zelic simply obtuse and the remainder are simply forgettable lightweights. On balance, it's good that the World Cup is on free to air TV, but apart from the pictures (and the excellent free app), there's not much to shout about.
