I have money riding on a Germany v holland final so it's squeaky bum time. Hopefully holland have a German like lead at half time :D

Selhurst Celtic

ARGENTINA!

Van Persie makes me want to be sick every time I look at him. Vile person.

But if Holland do win, I will be in Amsterdam for the final and will quietly support Germany, which might also be a laugh.

If Holland go on and win it we can at least say we were leading
the World Cup winners 2-1 in the Group match.

Yeah, I'm not daft. As a guest in the country I'm not going to noise up the locals by roaring for the Germans (if that is the final) as I have no ties to Germany. But I won't be shouting for the Dutch either. I intend to relax in a coffee shop somewhere and hope that my smirk is considered product related rather then revelling in the latest unravelling of the Dutch on the big stage.

I'll never forgive the Dutch for that disgraceful display in the last WC final.
Add that to a deep dislike of Robben and Martens Indi (one an out and out cheat the other a thug plain and simple) and you have me cheering Vamos Argentina (as much as that goes against the grain!)

Got money on an Argentina v Germany final, so will be hoping for some more Messi bullshit to pull Argentina through.

Hoping Argentina get found out tonight the way Brazil were found out last night, Holland were my outside shout from the start, hoping for a Dutch winn in 90 mins.

I started the WC not liking Robben, but you can't help but admire the bloke's guts, stamina and spirit. I hope the Dutch have been practising their pens.

Typical, O'Neil has just referred to the 96 play off final. Sums up my day.

As for who to back

Holland have given us:

Great music festivals
Gabber
Liberal attitudes to life
Amsterdam
Friendliness
Windmills
Canals
Skunk

Argentina have given us

Julian Speroni
Good steak
The Falklands

hup holland hup!

if the forwards weren't so bloody lazy and/or stupid they'd be able to stay onside. I'd rather see forwards play well than have the rules constantly changed to make things easier for them.

Maradona was uniquely amazing. Although I think it is much harder for an individual player to shine these days with levels of fitness and developed defensive tactics. Maradona was tougher, no doubt and more all round player. But not sure we'll see anything like that these days and it would be interesting to see if he was quite so incredible in today's game.

Not really a fair comparison until we see how Messi performs with the aid of a gram or two of coke flying up his hooter.

Unless we have seen it of course, in which case I concur.

So two Dutch players refused to take the first pen, and Ron Vlaar was the only one with bottle.
Van Persie was a passenger and Sneijder was past it two years ago but still takes most of their free-kicks/corners.
Poor old Robben and Kuyt have been carrying the team.
How did they get this far ?

Which is why I'm so infuriated by England displays! Yes it's been an exciting World Cup goals wise, but the standard has been pretty poor tbh. Personally my favourite teams have been Germany, Colombia and maybe Mexico. Brazil are poor but got their tactics spot on Vs Colombia. If they had gone toe to toe in a football match they would've got turned over. Argentina, France, Holland & Belgium are all much of a muchness. France and Holland had a couple of amazing performances but bottled it towards the end. If those 3 European teams had more belief and were a little braver in their crunch games, we'd be seeing an all European final. Germany are head and shoulders above anything else in this tournament.
