Not necessarily my opinion.

Clearly that of Oscar Garcia, the Spanish Prince of Flair.

Of course they are. I don't need Oscar Garcia to tell me something the whole world knows.

If Oscar thinks it, it must be true.

Sorry Brighton.

Well according to our good friend Londoner, Brighton are a bigger Club than us, so that means we are even behind Watford, as well !:sob::rolleyes:

Goes without saying, attendances in the past few years alone don't automatically make you a big club.

Have enjoyed far more success on the field than Brighton for a number of years.

But Brighton have big crowds and a new stadium, and therefore it must perplex them that Garcia wants to manage Watford

They even managed to get to Wembley two seasons ago didn't they

I really don't think attendances are the best way of judging this but...

Average attendance over the past 20 years:

Brighton 8744
Watford 13652

Historically certainly.

One thing for sure, both have deluded fans.

Is there any other perspective?

As with every single pissing debate about "who's the biggest club" it's irrelevant without setting the parameters. Attendances, history, wealth, league position....what's the debate based on Oscar?

I always knew we'd beat them after several Twatford fans said pre-playoff final that if they play at their peak on the day, it'll be extremely comfortable for them.

Sound familiar Brighton fans?

Similar clubs in my book. Both have dreadfully quiet home support.

Meek support.

One team built their ultimately fruitless recent 'success' on the back of a load of players on loan, whereas the other did so on the back of a load of fans on loan.

Brighton have a much smaller proper fan base than Watford

Always enjoyed Watford away, nice and local and their abysmal home support for a relatively local game always filled me with happiness given how I'd never seen something similar at Selhurst.

Brighton could learn something from Watford though, sitting in silence other than the fleeting song on repeat is only impressive on a tiny scale if you stay until the end and BHAFC have a long way to go when it comes to that!

Watford did at least manage to reach the PL before their reimagining of the loan system took place. How sad that, even with their cash injection, new stadium, and legion of new customers, Brighton are still no closer to emulating their Championship rivals.

Dunno, I remember Watford away in the fog a couple of years ago. We couldn't see any Watford fans, but then it was very foggy. However we certainly couldn't hear any either.

That foggy night was special. Was like listening to the radio gauging the Watford fans reactions so we could cheer a Speroni save that we couldn't see :lux:

Watford away is one of the things I miss most about the championship. Plenty of good evenings there in recent years.

And they clearly are a bigger club then Brighton. Reached a fair few playoffs recently and had a couple of seasons in the top flight not too long ago.

:lux:One of my best away nights ever. We were in raucous mood that night despite seeing **** all of the game (or was it just the second half?). Only recently topped by the 1-3 at the weed and the Charlton KG/smoke bombs game.

In many ways I miss the Championship. Proper league. :(
