The team that lost in the Youth Cup Final to Manchester United came from that squad. This (very old) thread lists the players in the two legs of the final.

Only Ndah and Watts made the first team I think

Two or three look familiar. Is that Niall Thompson (back row left) and Paul Sparrow (back row right)? Thompson was a big striker and I seem to recall that he was already a Canadian international or something, I think Sparrow made a few first team appearances at left-back at one point. I think the keeper is Jimmy Glass, famous for scoring a last minute winner from a corner to keep Carlisle in the league too many years ago to dare thinking about.
I vaguely recall the names McCall (who I think is the ginger in the back row), Hawthorne, Holman and Cutler from around that time.

Jimmy Glass became our 3rd choice keeper in the 94/95 season behind Nigel Martyn and Rhys Willmott, Grant Watts made appearances in the League Cup the following Season and George Ndah became a 1st team regular. Not sure the rest got anywhere near the 1st team. Considering about 9 of the United team went on to play for them along with Savage, looks like only 1 of their team 'failed to make it'

Next to Ndah, back row third to the left, is Umberto Oliva. Used to play for years with him in the same Sunday League team. He never made it past the 2 year apprenticeship either.

Should be noted all players are wearing proper football boots. Not a pink football boot in sight!

All the players except Ndah were white. What a change 20+ years make!

It's funny that except Ndah none of our youth team players made it in football whereas the United team had several players who went on to great things and good careers. I remember Watts scored against Chelsea but then quickly dropped down the leagues and I met him once after he'd played for Croydon at the Arena.

Ndah's two against Millwall in a 4-1 victory is far greater contribution to footballing history than anything Nicky Butt achieved IMHO. Butterfingers Keller right in front of the away fans. They should make a documentary about it

Went to school with Umberto. He was a class sweeper back in the day. Very intelligent player but wasn't the biggest lad.

Was a ball boy at the home leg. Had my day ruined by a couple of little sh*ts at the front of the Holmesdale throwing stones into the back of my hoodie the whole game

2nd from the right is Tim Clark, used to play Sunday football with him 3 or 4 years ago - he still had it

Strange the Class of 92, remembered more for who beat us....... Now the Class of 97 was different due in part to us going into Administration think 7 of that side ended up playing first team football at one time. Including Hayden Mullins , Clinton Morrison, Wayne Carlisle....... Also one that injury I thought robbed us of a great little player Gareth Graham never the same after breaking his leg ended up at the then non-league Wimbledon.
They were beaten by yet another youth side that had a great reputation Leeds Utd, the stars foir them Robinson, Woodgate, Kewell, Smith

Probably because it absolutely tipped it down in the 1-2 hours before kick off

Paul Sparrow started one game (League) and came on as a Sub in one other (League Cup) apparently.

I remember him from St.Mary's a year or two in front of me, as was Dean Gordon
