The Two Brewers pub in Croydon had this picture of all the palace players from 1986? EdenbrideEagleInExile, Ninjas Headband and I were trying to work out this player from the picture but we just didn't know who it was.

It's John Phillips. Signed him from Chelsea I think, and not sure if he ever played a first team game. I know the picture and pretty sure the season is 87 - 88 .

Nah, it's Kenny Dalglish's brother.

That looks like Dean Greygoose to me. Don't think he ever played in the first team. I know he moved on to Crewe after only one season with the club. Ii think Brian Parkin came to us from Crewe as part of the deal.

I immediately thought Dean Greygoose too.

I stand corrected, well done. I was sure it was J Phillips, but you are spot on.

Great name for a goalkeeper. For example ''Greygoose took off to tip it over''.

I remember Dean Greygoose. I think we had another reserve 'keeper called Lawrence Batty, about who Steve Coppell used to roll up laughing whenever he had to say his name, as I think some of our players with West Indian roots had a few things to say about the 'keeper's surname!

Anyway, the top picture looks like Wurzel from Coach One (that's one for 1980's Palace away fans!) and the modern picture looks like Steve Browett's twin.

I had to look this guy up, as I'd not come across him playing for Palace in the game I'm making. According to wiki he was at Palace on loan from Fulham, but never played a game. My data unfortunately doesn't have non-appearance loans :(

Wasn't he Woking's keeper for years?

Batty? Maybe, but all I can really recall is that Greygoose came from Cambridge United and Batty from Fulham.

Yeah Batty. I think he may have even played for the non league England team.
