I'm rubbish at posting photo's on the BBS, but I'd like to share this.
I collect Palace tickets and have a vast collection.
1970's tickets are hard to come by, but I have a few and some from the 60's, but I've just picked these up from eBay for about 10.

These are great Nelson, 1 to get in the Arthur in 1972, anyone know how that works out with today's prices, was it cheap-what could you get for a 1 in 1972..?

I started my first job at MCPS in Streatham in August 1977 @24 a week.. think it was still only about 2 to get in watch Palace.

I like that the venue is 'selhurst park, london'.
No further explanation needed, or given!

1 in 1972 is worth 12.64 at todays prices

and for the record your first job was worth 154.53 a week today

I purchased my first season in 69/70 I am sure it was 11 or 12 for the Arthur enclosure.

I also started work around that time at 12.00 a month !

I recall a game in the early 60's against Mansfield paying 1s and 3D for a wing stand seat
you sat on a long wooden bench with white lines dividing it up into "seats"

I was at every single one of those matches.

Money, funny stuff, early 70's home to game (shortlands) bus 227 & 75 (or was it 76?), fish and chips from shop beside goat house bridge, programme and game for under a quid.

Scuffle with arsenal at penge on return if we was lucky :)

Interesting that thebadge on the tickets for games played in 73-74 was still the old badge - after Allison had changed the badge to the eagle crest.

I get the feeling that the Club ordered a stockpile of tickets with that design at the start of the 1972/73 season and then it would have been a simple task of printing the opposition, date, price and competition details over the basic design for the next two seasons.
