We've got 11 away wins this year, or 13 if you include Dover and Southampton in the FA Cup.

Any stattos out there (with time on their hands LOL) able to check if this is a club record?

It has to be in top flight at least

Thought of this after the victory against Liverpoo.
Had a check of several seasons then, most I could find was 8 including cups.
When I get time I'll properly check

I'm sure there have been calendar years where we have had zero away wins - it sure seemed like it at the time.

There was a season circa 2010 when I think we won at Yeovil in the League Cup, Norwich midweek away and no other away wins!

1981 was heading that way, until we scraped a grim 1-0 win at the Racecourse Ground against Wrexham, followed by 1-0 at Roker in the League Cup.

Quickly checked some obvious years:-

1979 - incredibly only 4

1990 - 8 in league plus 3 in cups

1991 - 8 in league plus 3 in cups plus ZDS Final @ Wembley (neutral ground)

1991 ZDS Final @ Wembley (neutral ground)

Objection m' lord

Technically a draw as it was 1-1 after 90 minutes.

Take it from someone who had money on the win!! :moo:

In that case, we never won the 4-3 over Liverpool in the FA Cup Semi Final LOL

(although I probably miscounted 1990 anyway and missed that 'neutral ground' one off as it happens)

In my defence, The Complete Record book seems to have the odd mistake in it. A memorable (for me) League Cup game at Swindon which we won 1-0 that I bunked off college for, says "Drew" 1-0 !!!

Certainly looking like 2015 has the record at this early stage.

Agreed. Much like England - biggest result in their history was actually a draw in 90 minutes.

One of those strange quirks in Palace's history that for three consecutive years (1989, 1990 and 1991) our biggest game of the year went to extra time AND was reffed by George Courtney in all three.

I thought he was a terrible ref yet there he was every year in our biggest game.

Yep, just a shame we didn't get Courtney in the 1990 Final replay :( We'd have got the pen for sure from him.

Too much to ask for having had him for the Semi. We had some Brighton supporting t@sser I believe.

Yep,Alan Gunn.

A few years later he reffed an end of season friendly at Brentford. We gave him 90 minutes dogs abuse!!!

Well remembered. I didn't go to that game but I recall those who went telling me about that.

Good to know we didn't let him off lightly!! :p

I reckon 13 away wins in a year is a record.

From the end of October 2004 (PL season) we didnt win an away game until October 2005 (back in the Championship)
