Nice interview in today's Guardian with ex-Palace legend Darren Ambrose, now plying his trade with struggling Colchester.

Thanks for the link - it's hard to believe that he is now only a late substitute for a team looking like it's heading for League 2.

Especially seeing as he's only 32 and someone who's never relied on the physical side of his game. His biggest downfall was and probably looks like his confidence. At Charlton he came here with a poor track record but he excelled and I believe that was down to Warnock and Freedman getting the best out of him.

to me it doesnt matter if he is 101 years old, wheelchair bound, deaf, blind, and pooing into a bag.

he is the Eagle that scored 'that goal' !!

...is that the one at Old Trafford, or the Sheff Wed's winner? Either way he was someone who has given me some of my best Palace memories.

It's actually hard to believe that a team with Garvan and Ambrose are bottom of League 1

Met him once, lovely chap. Brilliant YouTube clip out there of his daughter singing his chant, too. I hope he remains in the consciousness of Palace fans for many years.
However his season pans out, I wish him the best.

Classic example of a great player who lit the place up during fairly lean times.

Plus scored a key goal in keeping us in the Championship.

One of the true heroes of becoming not so recent years.
