Sisyphus

I like it. Sisyphus never did succeed. He has all eternity to keep trying.

Prometheus is good too. He so pissed off the powers that be that he was chained to a rock so a GIANT EAGLE could feed on his liver by day and it grew back overnight.

Very recent history but....

The vote for Scottish independence.

Talked a good game.
Looked to have all the momentum.
Was presented as a done deal.
Even some of the English thought it was a good idea.
Lost it at the last.
Presented it as a glorious failure.
Still banging on about when they win it next time.

Brighton are like Tantalus. They see the promised land above them but as they reach up it moves further away.

Tony Bloom did a time swap with Robert the Bruce. Mr Bloom travelled back to the 14th century and met the Bruce in a cave. The Bruce said watch that spider and see it keep trying to climb the wall, fall down and then try, try and try again. Eventually you will succeed. Robert Bruce then travelled to the Championship play off semi finals in 2016 with Mr Bloom. After watching Brighton blow it for the 3rd time in 4 years the Bruce said sorry Mr Bloom but you have no hope. Steve Bruce then turned up and said to Robert Bruce that he had succeeded in getting promotion at the first attempt.
