Season officially starts August 13th, although we could play 14th or 15th of course. There's also Friday night football from next season isn't there? Not sure how I feel about that.

West Ham away to start the season would be nice, although I think we'll be at home as we had Norwich away first game.

Whoever it is, I hope it's a 3pm/5.30 Saturday game and it's warm and sunny.

Anyone know if there will be a full fixture list on Sat 24 December 2016?

What I think will happen is that a midweek round will happen before with no games on Christmas Eve. We will then have games on New Years Eve and 2nd January.

I was just thinking about it, and thought the 24th would be very unpopular day for a game even though it is a Saturday! Police wouldn't appreciate it!!

This will suit me far better than any other weekday game, if it's only replacing regular weekday games and not Saturday.

Will there be less Saturday games and more Friday with the same amount of usual weekday games? How is it going to work, does anyone have any idea?

Friday Night game is unlikely - I believe the details of the new TV Deal stated that there was only 10 games p/season that would be on a Friday night out of the 380 (Numbers may be out)

That being said it would be awesome to play a "big team" under the lights at Selhurst on a Friday Night.

Wasn't the last Friday Night game Brighton in the play-offs @ Selhurst?

Dorking .Eagle

10 Friday night games next season.

"However, opportunities for Friday night football are likely to be limited by top teams’ participation in European competitions during the week. Games will either have to feature teams not competing in Europe, or be broadcast during weeks where there is no European competition."

Bournemouth away in either the first few weeks or end of season would be a great trip, but if the PL run true to form it will be a cold and wet Tuesday between November and March.

At least we won't get Villa away on New Year's Day. It will probably be Boro or Sunderland - amazed if we get a local game on a Bank Holiday.

Why is it odd? They actually start the schedule almost a year ahead - obviously without the names but a framework for international breaks, Cups, Xmas, local events etc. All clubs, police, LAs etc would have got this earlier this year, to comment on it. Not sure when the teams are slotted in, because then of course promotion effects the initial plans. I remember reading an article last year about it - I'm easily nerdy enough to have found it very interesting.

The local events always makes me laugh, I remember reading how they take into account all sorts of things from fetes to festivals. You may remember before the championship had international breaks games were called off due to call ups. We frequently got a home fixture on August Bank holiday Monday, which was then switched to the Tuesday because of the Notting Hill carnival and then postponed due to international call ups for the following weekend.

First game of the season home v Spurs in 2013 was well known a couple of days early.

Don't know what others look forward to, but I'm mainly interested in Boxing Day, Burnley and Middlesbrough away first. Hoping West Ham away at the Olympic Stadium is on a weekend and not a Tuesday night, so we can make a full day of it, and that Liverpool away isn't right at the very of the season in case overruns on their new stand affects the early games.

Am I on the wrong forum, or is everyone on holiday? There was a time when with half an hour to go until Palace's PREMIER LEAGUE fixtures came out, people would be buzzing with excitement!

I know almost all the dates are meaningless until Sky and BT have tinkered with them, but for me it's almost as important as the 3rd round draw!

I guess Palace fans are a bit more laid back about it these days.

Good fixtures. Only midweek aways are Saints and Bournemouth (not too far), Boxing Day at Watford is very easy to drive to, first visit to Olympic Stadium on a weekend, so can make full day of it (unless it gets switched to Friday night of course).

No fixture on Christmas Eve

All good.

We have to be very pleased with the start, WBA at home has to be a great draw also August and September look like there are points to be picked up to steady the ship before the expected storm.

I'm always a little bemused by people reading much into the fixture lists. They're exciting because it gets us thinking about the season ahead, but predicting where the easy games clump together and the hard ones do means nothing at this stage. Who'd have had Leicester pegged as a 'tough' game 12 months ago? It could be any side next year that becomes a real challenge to beat. Likewise, looking at where Palace can pick up points is also anything but certain. We're just as likely to take more points from our last 9 games than our first 9 given how we don't seem to do things conventionally!

I just worked through the fixtures and with a sizeable degree of bias I had us on 41 points after a home victory against Watford on March 18th. Ironically that is the last game before that evil run of fixtures starts on 1/4. It's all hypothetical and my predictions were all a bit skewed with the negativity that the back end of last season has etched in me. Hopefully some decent signings that hit the ground running mean we have nothing to worry about.

Yeah weekend of 9/10/11 Jan. Only busy bit is the new year's eve and January 2nd game. Before that there are quite big gaps in December which is unusual but probably helpful for us in the long run. That period was when we picked up some key injuries last season.

From the fixtures the management need to look at those fixtures and get signings in early doors to complete a decent pre season.

If we go to deadline day with little quality added to the team or squad then we will struggle. I think it's safe to say we will go hell for leather up to Xmas with a view of rotating squad to see the season out as steady as possible and not perform as we did 2nd half of last season.

I don't much like the midweek aways. I appreciate they were rubbish for those that go but I don't mind the northeast teams being midweek games as they are so far I more then likely wouldn't bother with them anyway (having done them all previously). The trouble with the south coast teams being midweek is they are far enough to become problematic and they are games i definitely would have gone to at the weekend. Finishing work at 5/6 means still a strong chance driving is out without time off work. Taking kids is less likely as well.

Boxing day will be fun. Manchester united away with something at stake could be horrific.. we never beat them!

Doesn't look like any games should be on Sundays due to Europa League games in the first few months of the season?

West Ham have to 'qualify' for the group stage anyway, but the game with them on 15 October isn't following a Europa midweek.

Similarly Southampton on Dec 3rd is not following a Europa midweek, and Man Utd (home) is midweek already.

I hate a difficult run in, if were not home and hosed that run in will be curtains. The problem with the easier games at the beginning is that if you don't hit the ground running and lose a few its seriously uphill all the way. Personally i think next season will be make or break for us, either we'll develop into a solid premier league club for years to come or we'll be championship for years to come.

The end of season run in just shows how important it is to invest this summer and not in January if we can help it. Inflated fees in January to fight our survival cause (if we're struggling big time) would be an expensive gamble with the last 9 games.

When was the last time we knew the exact time and date we were going to play at Old Trafford this far in advance.

Mind you Bournemouth probably thought that a year ago...

Trying to look for positives in April May. Hull, Burnley. Leicester might be different proposition to their title winning side. Liverpool might be caught up in Europe. Ditto City, Arsenal United.

Liverpool didn't qualify for europe

Awful run in so we need to be safe by the end of March.

Looking to grab some tickets for some friends who are visiting over the West Ham home game in Oct. Anyone have info about which category this game will be? Haven't taken any notice in the past, and don't know if it changes each season.
Cheers.

West Ham usually Cat A, which means the highest price but you don't have to buy another home game at the same time.

Has anyone done one of those fancy outlook tools that you can import all the fixtures into?

EDIT: it seems the club have this above the fixture list on the fixture page, at ease everyone
