Does anyone know when tickets for this one will be on sale. Isn't it usually about 8 weeks before the game?

From Sky's website:

When will Sky's first live fixtures be announced?

That’s still to be confirmed but we expect to bring you details of the first batch of Premier League fixtures - those to be shown live on Sky Sports in August and September - at the beginning of July.

So probably not for a couple of weeks yet.

Adults - 30

Seniors (65+) - 19

Juniors (U18) - 17

Bearing in mind that Spurs have classed the game as 'Cat B', if we didn't have the 30 away ticket price cap, we'd be paying 41 in the Upper or 37 in the lower tier next month for an adult ticket.

Why bother? I'm sure scro has already set up an extensive spreadsheet that he'll give us frequent updates on, perhaps with pivot tables that incorporate train costs.

3,600 down to 2,000 is a massive drop though. I can see it becoming a bit of a scrap on Wednesday

Lol I am an away season anyway, I just think this 30 cap is just going to basically mean away games now cost 30. Which is still a decent improvement but just think there won't be many games we get under 30

Jono14
18-07-2016, 03:20 PM
3,600 is a bit excessive isn't it? I just about scrape into the top bracket but last season I was clearing it by about 500 points.

Dorking .Eagle

Last season I think across the 19 league games the average was 37 or thereabouts (with room for minor variation if you chose lower tier seats at a few of the grounds)

So on average you should be looking at a saving of circa 130 across the season for an adult.

Can't see any club offering seats at less than 30 bar maybe Stoke, who are now on year 9 of a '10 year price freeze' so they should be 25.

I don't think cup games were part of the price cap agreement, so if we draw Man United away, expect to get fleeced as usual

This is my point entirely. The point of having a cap saying a maximum price of 30 therefore should mean that certain matches will actually be under 30, but don't see this happening much at all, unless you get stuff like Monday night away games or suchlike

There's no requirement that a club charges less than 30 just that they don't charge more.

How many would be under 30 ordinarily? Stoke, WBA and hull perhaps? I don't see why this would encourage them to raise their price, it's not as if they couldn't charge whatever they want last season. Even if they do raise it by a couple of quid, the savings this year over last will be huge.

3600 drop down to 2000?

Seems a bit ridiculous if you ask me! Why not have a tier at 2800 as well, rather than dropping it to 2000 that amounts to 4 PL Season Tickets without going to any other games?

bhb
18-07-2016, 07:19 PM
As I understand it, the highest number of points guarantees all people with that number of points will get a ticket. The club could just make it a free for all after that. Maybe there is then a big step up in tickets that palace would need to ask for. Maybe, by putting the points down to 2000 they are reducing the risk of the next batch of tickets not selling out, but still thinking they will sell all tickets. They have to sell the tickets; don't the away club have to pay for unsold allocations that they have requested?

If away clubs are entitled to 10% of tickets then if capacity at WHL is still over 30,000 then why should the away Club have their allocation reduced.
Fair enough to make it on basis that away Club have to pay for all tickets taken whether sold or not, but why should away fans be given restricted allocation

Dorking .Eagle
19-07-2016, 09:56 AM
Agree, however I presume it would be so that Spurs can continue to accommodate the circa 4,000 season ticket holders whose seats have been demolished!

If the boot was on the other foot, and Palace were to ever knock down a stand for redevelopment, I would hope that our own season ticket holders were accommodated ahead of away fans getting a full allocation

During the mid-1990’s (and even in more recent times) we have had some paltry allocations whilst clubs redeveloped – just a few hundred at Man City, Liverpool and Norwich all spring to mind

Westham end of last season was 3000 points. You get 500 for your season ticket renewal so its gone up by 100 points. Probably the points for retail purchases starting to take effect and also most would have got points for the FA Cup games.

All the early season ticket renewal points would have been on by the West Ham game wouldn't they? And the people with most points probably are ones that would buy the season tickets early so not sure that would have made much difference?

The box office load away match tickets onto the online system in batches, and when a batch has all been sold the site says 'sold out' until they load the next batch. This is what happened this morning and it's a regular occurrence for almost every away match. So never believe a 'sold out' message on the tickets site - wait for confirmation on the official site or via the club's official Twitter account.

Lol I am an away season anyway, I just think this 30 cap is just going to basically mean away games now cost 30. Which is still a decent improvement but just think there won't be many games we get under 30

Yes I am expecting it to be 30 all round pretty much.

On another note anyone know what we are charging west brom?

Their website just says 'Adults 30, concessions 20'

In the Palace sections of the Arthur Wait, the prices are
Adults 32
Concession 21 (presumably over 65's?)
18-21 years 21
Junior 16
U10's 16

So very minor variances, but overall it is compliant with the 30 price cap, and it is NOT like Palace said that all seats in the away section are 30, including kids, which would not be within the spirit of the scheme

Looks like they have better adult prices, but we have better kids prices, evens itself out really.

Up again at 9.14am, logged in, chose three seats - 149, 150 and 151.

Onto checkout, only two tickets pulled through - 149 and 151 :wallbash:

Went back and was offered a third seat, different row

Had to start again and choose three new seats - worked in the end.

But if this is how it's going to be for other away games later in the season (when more people will be back and not on holiday), I can imagine the BBS might be an angry place :S:

If you go by the principle of the points system then unfortunately they're right to stop you - the ticket should only be used by the person that has the points for it. However, the club have shown they don't really give a damn about the principle of the points system by allocating points for non-match purchases so strange they suddenly care about this.

strikes me that the parish points have skewed something because i have gone from being well above any threshold for away tickets like this to being on the cusp of dropping out of the first wave. With barely any games having been played.

Maybe the lower allocation for Spurs this season has affected that? So the points threshold to guarantee the 'first wave' of buyers getting a seat has gone up? I don't know, just speculation by me!

Bizarrely though, the points system didn't even seem to matter in the end for this game. I was able to get one with just 800 points as it got through to the last phase for all members without points!

Listed as sold out now. I got kicked out of the system on Friday whilst purchasing tickets, it even gave me the seat numbers. After getting kicked out, I couldn't log in again until just nowand didn't get the chance to call them due to work.

The online system has been shit for many a year, but this is the first time it has ****ed me over. It is quite incredible for a multi-million pound company (that's what we are now) to have such a poor online system.

Same here, went to get my tickets on Tuesday morning and was unable to buy as 3,600 points were required, I have 3,525, 1st time I have not qualified in the 1st phase!!!

Just over 2,000 I think
Ordered mine from the box office and was told they would be sent to me! Temp box office 'not secure' I asked when I would get them, because the club is notorious for slow post the girl told me they were sent out at 4pm every day!! I'm away at the moment but still not got them!!!!!

Cheers, I've got 2 tickets for this, I was just curious to how much the allocation would be reduced due to the work going on there, I think got around 2,900 for the league game there last season. I haven't received mine yet btw either!
