why can they do the 2/3/4 th divisions same day and the 1st div was a week earlier but still no sign

Because Sky has the sole rights to the Football League, whereas they have to negotiate with BT for the Premier League.

To encourage fans to attend games.

The option should be that you can watch any game that is sold out.

The rather odd kick off time for the Stoke game appears to be because Watford v Man U is on BT Sport at 12 noon that day, rather than being a Saturday 5:30 kick off, presumably because of Man U's Europa League commitments.

It is a shame that games to the end of November have not been announced as in the past, and for fans who go to live games, the fewer that are moved the better.

1 in 2 weekend games are moved for tv, but in reality only 1 in 6 of Palace's weekend games has been moved, and it's a home game so no real inconvenience to travelling Palace fans. Mustn't grumble

Slightly annoying quirk of the timing is that one day into october we play everton away and cheap train tickets go on sale this weekend. I was hoping that would be my first away this season as i am away for spurs and have relatively little interest in the trek to the northeast of england.

We tend to do about a dozen of the away games and not always the same but nearly always the london and the midlands ones provided sky don't mess up the kick off times.

The ones in the north east are often expensive and the away ends at sunderland and newcastle are a disgrace. Add in the distance and i often cannot be bothered. Especially as i have done them both previously. To keep with the more information than required theme of my posts. I did consider boro but i might be working that day and turning down a couple of hundred quid to work and paying £100 for myself and the lads train tickets is too big a swing.

It looks like Man U are on every blooming week, all desperate to get coverage of the Special One as well I suppose.

I think we need to point out to Sky that whilst Man U are obviously v popular, there are considerably more football fans who don't support them than those who do, and we'd like to see a variety of teams.

It's a proposal rather than definite as I understand it. (and would start 2017/18 not this season)

Would hopefully get us back to the old corner we used to have at Sunderland rather than up in the gods.

At Man Utd it'd be the same location in the corner, behind their wheelchair section (they would get an exemption because of this)

Article here

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/07/27/every-premier-league-club-could-be-forced-have-a-pitch-side-away/

Personally I'd like clubs to go further and have away fans in view of the main tv side camera. I like to see fans go mental on tv when a goal is scored. Obviously away fans can't always be at the same end every goal is scored, but having them behind the camera is a bit sterile

Yes, that's what I was referring to as the fans at OT are behind the disabled. I too think that's a great idea of having away fans in view of cameras. It's certainly does add to the spectacle when the away team scores sand goes mental, especially at the likes of Anfield and The Emirates.

I think the directive is pitch level which we are more or less at old trafford. It's a great proposal for the atmosphere and for making it worthwhile travelling to the likes of newcastle and not being stuffed in the back of an extremely high stand.

They do appear to be taking the importance of away fans seriously. I think it's only really a problem at sunderland and newcastle really. They should have been encouraged to not have been dicks in the first place mind.

And Barnsley v Forest (Championship) on Fri 25 Nov, so Swansea away shouldn’t be moved to a Friday night either

Leicester and Swansea probably wouldn't be pushed back to the Monday, because the day after in each case is League Cup R4 and R5

Could Everton away be pushed back to Monday 3 October, or is that day classed as part of 'International week'? (with World Cup qualifiers at the end of it)

On the weekend of Burnley away,

Sky have a Brentford game on the Friday night and Wolves on Saturday at 1230

So that doesn’t leave many slots.

On the weekend of Burnley away,

Sky have a Brentford game on the Friday night and Wolves on Saturday at 1230

So that doesn’t leave many slots.

I reckon BT will have Arsenal v Spurs on the Saturday evening slot, and Sunday will probably be Chelsea-Everton and either Liverpool-Watford or Swansea-Man Utd

Reduced to guesswork at the moment!!

Burnley away was one of the best games of the 2014-15 season especially after there was the risk of it being postponed. Would be a grim place to go on a Monday night.

It's a proper ground and a proper Northern town. It's definitely one of my favourites and the last time we went up there was wonderful.

But I can only really do a Saturday. Ditto Everton - another good away day.

Does anyone have any idea of when we will actually know when we're playing these f*cking fixtures?

Loved it last time. Leaving at 5:50am, getting up there to loads of snow, the Bier Hues having a very palatable cider for £2 a pint, when that ran out switched to Stowford Press for £2.50 (£4.50 down here), last minute winner, more snow and then Burnley's version of the Wealdstone Raider who got the absolute piss ripped out of him at the Station and on the train to Preston :lux:

From Wikipedia:

The club is very well supported in the town, and holds the record for the highest ratio of match attendance to town population in the country

and

"The stadium has a total capacity of 21,401, which is approximately one seat for every three inhabitants of the town, no other league team has such a high ratio."

Forgot to post this on the day the changes were announced, however if anyone is planning to dine at Harvester before the game (it is immediately next to the ground and the branch is called The Morfa Parc) then you can reserve a table online via the Harvester website. When you have reserved a table you will get a confirmation email, which if you print it off includes a voucher for a free unlimited refills soft drink.

Appreciate Harvester isn't to everyone's taste, and there are probably 'better' pubs elsewhere, nevertheless for those that want somewhere reasonable and convenient to go, it ticks a couple of those boxes.

Some of you don't seem to realise that fans of clubs really don't feature high on Sky's list of priorities.

Why go when you can watch it on telly? ;)

Moan about fixture changes but happy to take the TV money.

Surely we should be used to it all now? Two months is plenty of notice.

Well that's just dandy. My Italian brother in law is coming over for Christmas and being a mad football fan was delighted that as part of his last day here in the UK, he'd be able to see an English game live: something he's wanted to do since he was a kid.

Thanks a lot, Sky.

Some of the time yes, but if you travel by train yourself you'll know that cheaper advance fares are available 12 weeks prior to date of travel, so 2 months is not brilliant is it.

But as long as you're ok...........

Who here gets a cut of the tv money?

I'm just pissed off that most of the matches over Xmas that I was planning to attend are now much more difficult to get to but I appreciate that's largely due to living far away.

It's annoying, rather than surprising.

It's a hassle.
However as I can't make it over to the UK this Christmas, I am selfishly pleased that all these games will be on Spanish TV.

TV money gives us the privilege of seeing the likes of Benteke and Townsend so we do get to benefit.

It is annoying but it comes with being in the EPL

You joke but i might take the opportunity to save some money and watch the watford game on telly. It's a little bit of hassle going there early on a boxing day and a lazy post christmas day with the 12:30 game on telly now appeals.

Will use the money to try and get to hull earlier in the month and arsenal.

F*cking ars@holes. Land on morning of 17th long haul, 15:00 a rush, no chance earlier. Watford a write off too due to Christmas commitments and lack of transport. 2 weeks at home, zero chance of a game.

Back in Cardiff Boxing Day 2012 - my last league away game - none of this. Now no fixtures that work at Christmas and seemingly no chance of a season ticket next year. **** this.
