Is the ground walkable from the station?

Frimley station is the nearest to the ground, being around a 15 minute walk away. However, this station is on a local line and if you are coming from London Waterloo then you will end up instead at Farnborough Main station, which is around one and a half miles away from the ground (around a 25 minute walk away). It is probably best to jump in a taxi. If you do decide to walk then as you come out the station turn right along Union Street. At the end of Union Street turn right into Prospect Road. This road leads into Cherrywood Road for the ground.

last chance for cabaye, ledley, McArthur, mandanda to get any sort of game time pre season. Unless they are injured that is.

Bolaise needs more game time too.

I would also like to see Anderson, Ladapo, Dryher and boatang get some pitch time as well to see how they shape up.

Has anyone bought from the Farnborough website? Are they print at home tickets?

Unexpectedly, I might be able to attend, but would literally just get there for kick off, so wouldn't be able to collect from a portacabin, etc.

They are print at home or you can use the Y Plan app on your mobile (it's outsourced by Farnborough).

When do they announce the squad for these games ?

Crystal Palace will make a decision today as to whether they should play Steve Mandanda for this evening's final pre-season friendly at Farnborough.

The majority of the Eagles' squad will made up of youngsters, with perhaps one or two first teamers eager to up their match fitness.

Seems like another Bromley con. This was advertised as a first team friendly. Now sounds as though we will be lucky to see one or two first teamers.

Woods is Sam Woods, a 17-year-old CB who was very commanding in the 18s last season. Good on the ball, very tall, confident player. Has been the stand-out player in the U21s this pre-season for me.

Enjoyable evening last night made even more enjoyable by the Farnborough chairman Simon Gardener or "Garbo" as he is known.

I arrived at the ground with my nephew who is in a wheelchair and we were a little bit lost as we had no tickets. We approached a steward to ask where we should head and we got vaguely directed to the other end of the ground.

Heading off looking somewhat confused we were approached by a suit who said he would show us exactly where we needed to head. Turned out to be the club Chairman! He led us to the relevant gate and I asked where we should pay. He said not to worry, we were his guests and to enjoy our evening. Absolute class and heartwarming gesture from the man. Farnborough are now officially my second club. :D

Crystal Palace midfielder Jonny Williams will miss Wales' opening World Cup qualifier against Moldova on 5 September because of an ankle injury.

Williams suffered the injury in a pre-season game against Farnborough.

The 22-year-old could also miss the games against Austria and Georgia in October and is expected to be out for up to 10 weeks.

He was part of the Wales squad for Euro 2016, starting the opening game against Slovakia.

"It's another injury for Jonny and we hope it's not too long," Wales assistant manager Osian Roberts told BBC Radio Wales Sport.

"It's really disappointing for Jonny because we thought this would be the season he would make that major step in his career.

"It's really disappointing it's come in a friendly and I've seen the tackle, it's a poor one and one we don't want to see in the game anymore.

"It's one from behind with both legs wrapped around the ankle and subsequently it's another injury for Jonny."

Ruskin Old Boy
24-08-2016, 03:20 PM
In announcing the Welsh squad for Moldova Chris Coleman mentioned the tackle which injured Johnny Williams: "Jonny has had a good impact on the team and brings something different. I saw that tackle on him, it was a coward's tackle from behind, and that was annoying."
