Why 20 for non members ? it's a perfect chance to bring along people who can't normally go. Definitely see sub 10K for this.

The club have got this one wrong. Pack 'em in with a combination of cheap tickets and the school holidays. Theres always big demand for home legue games now so they could have taken advantage of that too. Like you say, will be sub 10k now however.

Both teams have to agree the prices - Palace have been happy to agree some really cheap prices with Southampton in cup games in the last 2 seasons, so perhaps in this case Blackpool wanted higher prices than we would have chosen?

And before anyone says 'what's the rush', season ticket holders seats are not being reserved for them.

FFS. Tried to buy some tickets on my ST and membership, says 6 available but charged 20 for additional tickets above the first one. Managed to get some for friends on my login at 15 but three times with that nothing got added to basket. Had to log in and out three times to get them properly. How the f**k can tickets be charged at 20 in the upper when if you hover over the stadium view it clearly says 15 all tickets. Really encouraging people to attend and bring along casual supporters??? Only good thing is you can print at home so no nail biting to see if they arrive.

Sort it out or it really will be a small crowd

15 to watch a sprinkling of first teamers mixed with some home grown lads is fine by me, especially seeing as we can get our younger fans in for free to boot.

I always enjoy a cup game under lights at Selhurst - a chance to try out new vantage points. Not been in the AW for several years so may give that a go.

Depends how late you leave getting to the ground. New bar code readers or chip readers should make things quicker and all turnstiles open as don't rely on human beings

"Newer fans?" WTF?

Anyone who hasn't watched a game in the last 6 years, from the locality to the outer edges of the Home Counties and beyond, aren't going to suddenly turn up to an EFL Cup tie whatever the price!

Where the f*ck are these potential new fans coming from? The ground's only "sold out" thanks to the tourists and they won't be anywhere near Selhurst on Tuesday week.

Some of the ticketing and general off the field decisions at the moment are seriously concerning.

Why? The higher ticket price wil get the greatest revenue. Half the ticket price and you are unlikely to double the gate and you will have extra costs.

Blackpool have to agree to the charging and they will not care about getting kids in to watch palace and potential future palace fans. They will only be concerned with what will bring in the largest gate money so they get as much income as possible. The gate money will be far far more important to them than to us.

It may well be Blackpool causing the issue but any excuse to bash the club you support eh?

hdeagle
19-08-2016, 01:47 PM
Cup ties are a life-blood to lower league clubs with money problems and they have to get as much revenue as they can out of them.

Remember where Palace were before 2010.

How can they insist, if the prices have to be agreed by both clubs? That would mean neither club can 'insist'.

So I wonder what happens if one club says 20 and the other club says 10, and neither will budge?

Does the league get involved and broker a compromise?

Tried online to buy 5 tickets 2 senior ST holders plus 3 under 12s, 2 of whom are ST holders. Should have cost 15 (2 seniors @5, 2 under 12s free and 1 under 12 ST holder @5.) Despite following instructions it insisted on charging me for all 3 under 12 tickets. I had chosen tickets in Holmesdale Lower but cancelled first attempt hoping that site would work properly. Went straight back in but whole of Holmesdale was greyed out. (All sold?) Box office constantly engaged. Eventually bought tickets in Main Stand so that kids weren't disappointed despite still having to pay for all 3 under 12s. Am now waiting for answer to email asking for 15 refund. Chances?

So it's 15 quid for ST holders (not on the night of course, only if they buy before then :jerkit:) and 20 for us terrible fans who are not current ST holders whenever we buy. Nice. Good to see the club is showing some imagination in how to attract more from around the local area to come to a game and become associated with the club. I bought tickets for tomorrow from the box office before the West Brom game. The free tickets didn't show on their system, but someone showed the bloke serving me how to override it.

In future if they want to offer 'free' tickets they should charge 1p each for them instead. I imagine that the system could handle that.

In future if they want to offer 'free' tickets they should charge 1p each for them instead. I imagine that the system could handle that.I think the system is unable to handle the 1:1 ratio, i.e., allowing only one special offer kid's ticket with each adult ticket purchased. So charging 1p would not solve the problem.

So why do CPFC send out a bulk marketing email to all ST holders and members claiming that their system can handle the 1:1 free ticket when it absolutely cannot? Do they not know what their is and what it is not capable of? I suspect I know the answer to that question!

I had to make 2 transactions to get the discounts. When I initially tried to do 2 adults and 2 under 12s (using more than one season ticket reference number) it only allowed 1 of the under 12s to be discounted.

The online ticketing has never been sorted out properly and seems ridiculous now we are an established Premier League club. They know we will fart around and try poor old Pam. I think we will have sold a lot less seats for this one as I was not going to pay 20 for the 15 seats beyond those I got for ST holders.

Went to Box Office and finally got it sorted. Tickets in Holmesdale and refund. The more senior lady there v knowledgeable and helpful. At a time when most organisations are trying to reduce overheads by maximising online transactions rather than using expensive staff to answer phones or staff offices, the failure of CPFC to provide an online ticketing service that works properly must cost them dearly both in terms of lost sales and staff costs.

Zulu84
23-08-2016, 09:33 AM
nothing on the ticketing website under the ticketing info says that the price is 20 on the day, I think it's a pretty cheap trick to not advertise at all on there and then raise the prices on ST holders. Do the club really need that 5 so desperately FFS.

Website is not working properly, clicked on tickets for juniors but when you go to checkout they disappear, Adults work fine! Never had a problem before.

I've had this before - Spurs away in the Cup last season. Completely random action.

System could do with upgrading/replacing - too many bugs such as this.

Didnt get mine till today as wasnt sure if my lad would be able to go and obviously wanted 2 together. Cost me an extra 5 for buying on the day. Not the end of the world but for a match of this stature I would love to know WTF is the point in an extra 5 for buying on the day. Bit unnecessary IMO

Seems a bit silly if your already a season ticket holder to be punished with an additional increase on the day.

why the season ticket holder discount can't apply on the day of the game is beyond me,.

if I buy one now does it get added to my season ticket or do I have to print it off?

May be because the club want most tickets bought in advance so they can plan supplies and staffing accordingly. Probably less critical with supplies as we have a home game this weekend.

When you do get through I find the box office staff nothing but helpful and polite , maybe other people are experiencing a bad service because of a lack of staff for cup games ?

might have been discussed already somewhere but for our three e-tickets tonight we are all being told (in bold) to bring photo ID? is it really essential ?

Does anyone know roughly how many tickets we have sold so far?

231 , and that includes 50 from Blackpool

I think when it was discussed they said ID was only needed for a reduced price ticket to prove you should have it but with no more turnstile operators I don't see how someone could ask for it.

I have an e-ticket for tonight and won't be bringing ID.

Why 20 for non members ? it's a perfect chance to bring along people who can't normally go. Definitely see sub 10K for this.20 ?? Clueless by the club again

What was attendance?

Personally had no interest due to non members being charged a premium. suspect others thought same.
