View Full Version : Favourite Bolasie moment?

There's another thread for people to be debate his departure to death or slate him/the board etc.

However, he's been a very popular player and played a vital role in where we are now. So I am grateful to him and would like to share a few memories.

My favourite Bolasie moment was when we were 2-1 up at Chelsea last season. Most teams would be taking the ball into the corner or hacking it upfield. Yala just took the piss, running up the field, doing a few step overs and won a corner. Kind of sums up his maverick qualities.

'The Bolasie Swipe' for me, just because it was so surreal, a bit brilliant and made me laugh.

Yeah, it's got to be the 'Bolasie Flick' against Spurs for me. Never seen anything like it and he timed it absolutely perfectly.

Assist at Brighton, FA Cup Semi goal, skill vs Spuds, the destruction of Liverpool in the 3-3 and 3-1.

I picked a random moment that summed him up, but the Sunderland hat trick should also be mentioned.

The spurs flick was special but i remember his first game against bristol city, he was getting loads of crap off the away support, the ball came over and he tried a amazing overhead kick that went just over.

There goes Yannick
Full backs panic
Klopp in a strop
Silenced the kop
Pen at Reading - lovely dive
Chip v Ipswich (one of five)
White Hart Lane - crazy flick
Back again - selfie click
Made Cech look appalling
Earned a red card for Smalling
Sometimes crap, sometimes classy
Either way - farewell Bolasie

There was also an early hat trick against Ipswich, we all thought Andre Moritz was better until that point 😄

I was on a corporate beano just underneath the directors box. Free food and drink all day with my mates and then he goes and does that. I'm afraid to say I let myself down.:D

I can't remember who it was against but there was a match when he was running at a fullback who was backing off and then inexplicably he paused, bent over and touched the pitch with his hand. The opponent stood there apparently thinking WTF? and in that split second Yannick was past him and away. Anybody remember where and when?

He also did it in a game towards the back end of last season at home. We were so shit, he was playing shit, we were losing, then he did the stupid brush the grass thing, lost the ball, fell over and looked a right twat. Got dogs abuse from the fans about not simply crossing it in. Kind of sums him up to me

I think that might have been the game I was talking about. The guy is a clown sometimes. 4 or 5 great memories for a 25m player is crazy when you think about it, should be countless we can reel off. The Bruno one was the best

That for me too. The rare aspect of an end product makes it complete as a memory. The dummy and cross at the Amex for the end product too. I also loved that ridiculous arm sweeping along the ground before rinsing Lovren? at Gerrards last match when he was running riot. Just bizarre but total entertainment.

Yes, that moment sums up everything Bolasie did at the club and in football in general since signing from Bristol City for 400k 4 1/2 years ago.

I just loved watching him in full flow. Tottenham Away, 0-0 he absolutely roasted them. Never Thought Walker would come back from it that day.

Sunderland away, I was there and i was just in as much disbelief as Bolasie was about his hat-trick.

Thanks for everything Bolasie, we had some great times watching you play. It's unfortunate we don't have a manager who wants to keep you on the wing.

I liked it against Brighton when he took on one or two players and absolutely smashed one of them.

His hat trick too against Sunderland.

His hand flick on the ground brushing the grass before he skinned a player was comedy gold.

Liverpool at Anfield. Didn't it lead to a goal? I think his best move was to Palace from Bristol City. Thrown on away at Sunderland away in the Championship ( I think) and although I was only listening on Palace Player, I could tell we had a diamond. Still, he can ply his trade with the Toffees and I couldn't care less.

100% his performance in the 3-0 home win against Brighton. I thought Bruno was going to retire after that game, couldn't get anywhere near him and when he did Bolasie nearly shoulder barged him in the Arthur.

Just read through this thread smiling.... remembered when I got to the end he's left.
Arguably one of the most entertaining players we've ever had.... not the best but wonderful to watch. The anticipation when he gets the ball, is he going to skin 4 players or trip over, is he going to nuts someone and swing a cross in or try and shoot from a ridiculous angle and smash the jumbotron!!!! So exciting in a very Palace way.

All the best ones have already been mentioned, so I'll go with his brilliant overhead kick against Bristol City at Selhurst (with him getting stick from their fans).

Yala being Yala, it wasn't actually a goal... it hit the bar!

wow the technique involved in that was off the chart. Had an Arsenal supporting mate with me who's being going to the Emirates for years and he sat there opened mouthed after he saw that. was really something.

The bolasie/zaha combination was the Wright/bright of my generation. This until now was the best ever team I have seen palace have (first game was last of the terrace holmesdale v Watford at home in 94) everything hurts now but surely bolasie will be remembered as one of our greats and most certainly the most exciting player to watch at palace.

There are too many great moments to think of but I have never felt so proud to be a palace fan over the past 5 years and bolasie was a massive part of that pride.
