Just a touch of hayfever, even on the day we drop 30m on Benteke.

Would have kept him this year. One of my true Palace legends.

Remember that long range cracker v Millwall.

Heart and soul of the team.

Not sure I'll ever see a more inspirational captain for Palace. Complete legend for how he's lead us to where we are now.

Gutted we'll never see him in Palace colours again.

Can we just buy him back please? Tell Villa to name their price.

Amazing video.
I've criticised him a lot since pardew came in but that doesnt change the fact that he's a complete legend. So many adjectives can be used to describe him and his time with us that i cant sum it down to one sentance.

A player that 30 odd thousand eagles and myself will forever remember fondly.

Playoff Final, Pulis relegation run, Watford semi final - and stablising the squad after every managerial exit deserve a special mention. Liverpool free kick one of my favourite moments at palace.

Good luck mile, you'll be missed.

Top man

Will always be a legend. The good thing is, he knows it too.

Stay well Mile.

Have seen many players come and go over the years. And although I understand why it has happened, does not make it any easier to take. Absolute legend in my eyes, and I don't use that term lightly. Right up there.

I'd be far too sentimental to be involved in transfers at the club. He'd have a contract for life. One of the most important players in our history

Wonderful captain and leader BUT simply not the type of player you can have in the squad if not playing after leading and playing such a central role. Too strong a character.

Brave decision by AP to let him go, I hope he has timed it right.

Mile is indeed a true Palace legend and a great motivator. Good luck at Villa.

Suggest we keep this thread solely for adulation, there are other threads confirming the extent of the merits of our best ever captain

This is spot on. A club needs leaders off the pitch just as much as on it. Hope we haven't shot ourselves completely in the foot.

Just come back from being away for 2 weeks and seeing that he had left has put such a bad taste on the season ahead. I am gutted.

Great player. Part of the core that dragged us out of the Championship to Premiership stability.

Also goes into the record books at the first Palace player to score at a World Cup.

He will return one day I'm sure in a team up with Popovic.

Magnificent player and person, under the right style of play he's a machine defensively. Never had I been so confident in a center midfielder in a palace shirt to be 95% certain he'll win his 50 50, whether it be in the air or on the floor.

He just never could or would ever adapt to Pardew's vision of how he wants to play. Whether that turns out to be a good thing or not is to be seen.

Still thinking we would have needed him at plenty of games this season...

Sometimes players and clubs are just made for each other and this was the case with Jedinak and Palace. Not the most gifted of players, but a great leader and inspiration to those around him, a man who always gave 100% on the pitch. He loved Palace and we loved him and it doesn't quite seem the same with him no longer around. Hopefully one day we will see him back at the club in some capacity. The very best of luck in all you do Mile.

Got the assist for Villa's first goal tonight.
