After the Benteke brothers today, I'm sure I know of numerous other examples of brothers playing for CPFC but struggling to think of any.

Did Richard Harris have a brother? Only one I can think of?

Martin & Paul Hinshelwood were the best.

A difficult question that requires an extensive trawl but is that the first time a Palace player has been substituted for their brother? Or can anyone think of it ever happening in football before?

I suspect Palace have never substituted a player with his brother before!

When Frank Parsons was at the Palace I seem to recall we also had his brother on the books also the Cutler brothers.

Kenny Sansom's brother was on the books at Palace at the same time but never got close to the first team. Was he the youth team goalkeeper?

Not related and different spelling, open for correction but I think that Paul Sansome went on to play at Millwall.

I am assuming Calvin Andrew had a better twin brother who always came on for him just before an Andrew got themselves on the scoresheet.

There were 2 brothers who came through the youth set up in the 1980's. Never made the first team but were on the verge of being part of the squad. I remember one then worked at the Croydon Park hotel (after he left Palace for Carshalton) - got sacked for having a liaison with one of the lady guests.

There were two Vansittarts on the books in the late 60s. Must have been brothers?

Think that was Dave and he played for Barnet along with the brothers of Glen Hoddle, Mitchell Thomas and the less famous third Stein brother.

We had the sadly telling situation of Kevin Mabbutt and Henry Hughton playing for us when their more talented siblings were playing for Spurs at the same time.

Monday 7th May 1984; Kevin & Henry turned out for Palace against Carlisle United at Brunton Park in a 2-2 draw watched by 3,013 spectators (the lowest attendance for a Palace league match for the past 40 years) which saw us scrape to survival in Division 2 in the last couple of weeks for the 3rd year running.

2 days later, in Brussels, Gary and Chris played for Spurs against Anderlecht in the 1st leg of The UEFA Cup Final securing a 1-1 draw in front of 40,000 spectators before winning the tie and the trophy 2 weeks later on penalties at White Hart Lane.

Do you think there was a slightly awkward atmosphere when they congratulated each other for their relative achievements over the course of the season that Summer?

Wright and Bright were only separated at birth by a single letter.

But their story is nothing to the tragedy that befell Jeff Hopkins and his younger brother David, for whom the registrar's pen ran out before he finished writing his surname.

There was a goalkeeper, Paul Sansome, not related. Close though.

Not brothers, but Dave and Mark Garland were a father and son combination at Palace. Dave coached the youth and Mark was youth team captain.

Father and son, Nicky and Len Chatterton. One used to amble around the pitch, randomly patting down pieces of turf here and there and try not to disrupt the game as much as possible.

The other was the groundsman.
