Had the pleasure of meeting him today while I was doing some work at his house. Before finding out his name, we got onto the subject of his hip injury and how his football career was probably to blame. He told me he had been signed by Bert Head in 1971 and followed him to Bath City in 1972. I can't find much more information about him on the Internet, other than he may have made an appearance for Wimbledon in 1973/74. He isn't in the best of health at the moment but still seems very proud to speak of his time at Palace. Does anybody else have any more info on his time with us?

Thanks for that. That's him in the middle of the front row on the squad photo. Stands out for one obvious reason. Said he was one of the first, if not the first, black player at Palace but not sure how accurate that is

Bath City official archive says;
" Winger Ricky joined City on loan from Crystal Palace during the 1973 - 74 season, scoring once in a couple of appearances. The 19 year old also played a single game for Wimbledon that season."

Tony Collins was possibly the first black player at the Palace

I hope you can show him the team photo. Maybe he'll recognise some of his former team mates.

Funnily enough, when I told him I was Palace, he had a copy of that exact team photo complete with the player's names at the bottom. He said he was still in contact with one or two on Facebook
