Hong Kong & MIKEY C will be in attendance at this one!
Bridge Bier Huis looks good for a pre-match warm up.

Beer shack for me so long as it is still open!

Where's the Beer Shack mate? We'll head wherever Palace fans are mostly congregating.

Beer Shack was the tiny place on the main road wasn't it? Didn't get in there last time - but remember Ministry of Ale being good after the game, just outside the station (followed by the snowball fights across the tracks).

Ministry of Ale does a nice carry out for the train. Straight from the cask.

Shack is open. No more than 6 Palace fans in there when I visited the winter of 2015.

Talking to a good friend of mine who is a Blackburn fan he says most away fans head to the Bier Huis - decent pub, decent beer and 10 mins to the ground. Will give it a go.

If anyone's staying overnight locally, I'd recommend the Balti Stan curry house in nearby Clayton-Le-Moors, and the Gamecock pub in nearby Great Harwood (my current hometown) does a reasonable carvery for around 4.50 (there'll be a couple of Palace fans in there at some point once we leave the Burnley cricket club).

I'm going to the Burnley and looking forward to it. The beer in the aforementioned bridge bier huis is very strong and we are always steaming at this game.

Always head in to the ministry of Ale first then pick one of a few from there. Heading up with a few mates, the missus and her friend who supports Burnley this time however and then making a night of it in Manchester after. As a result we're going to be meeting up with some of her Burnley supporting family and mates in the Talbot near the ground. Although its mainly a home pub its supposed to be relatively friendly as well as having a great ale selection, but then again it seems nearly every pub in Burnley does!

Sorry for not replying sooner, been in Poland!

Beer Shack is on the main road from Manchester Road station, also did carry outs straight from the cask and I was in the snow ball fight as well.

Beer shack is only a small place but beer is excellent

Great beers.

Left Chichester just after 10am. Arrived Holiday Inn Express Burnley at 19.10. It's nothing but insanity. Beers flowing now though.

What's wrong with that Orpy? It was the night before the game wasn't it?

Due to coach spending forty minutes on a bridge waiting for a non existent police escort failed to investigate the joys of Burnley pubs. Thought about cricket club, but spotted beer tent inside ground so went there instead.

Apologies ebyeeckeagle, the micro pub was indeed no more. Still open for drinking though, little more than a pop up bar with only one real ale.

Yes,how dare you challenge my knowledge of drinking establishments in northern slums:)

Only just made it for kick off and raced back to station straight after, so all a bit superfluous for me this thread:frown:

For shame. The Ministry of Ale was superb as always. Disappointed with the cricket club, Beer Huis excellent too.

I usually head to the cricket club, but the only things it really has going for it are the parking and the convenient location. Never going to compete with anything other than the crappiest of pubs on any other measure.

Have to admit I was surprised at just how much of a shithole Burnley is. Couldn't find one part that had any charm or character. Ended up at the cricket club pre match and they were very helpful as we were with my disabled nephew but they couldn't do enough to accommodate him in his wheelchair despite it being far from straightforward. Ended up in the Bridge Bier Huis after and it was busy and a decent atmosphere but was still reeling from the last minute loss so the beers are never as good. Enjoyed my weekend but couldn't see me going back to Burnley unless it was a match of massive importance.
