I was watching the LA Rams today and their oldest ex-player, who is 93, was at the game and got a nice reception from the fans. Made me think, who is Palace's? One for Ian King!

Dick Graham did live to 90, but died in 2013.

Vic Rouse aged 80. Terry Long is 81. Peter Burridge is 82. Mike Deakin 83. Jimmy Belcher and Len Choules, both 84.

Apologies if any of the latter named players have passed away but I think they are all 'with us'

Unfortunately sometimes you only hear about former players of whom you are not aware of their current circumstances is when they pass away.

David Payne I believe has contact details for Jack Edwards and therefore looks like is still around - lives in Plymouth area I think.

Also Charlie Chase now 92 may still be living in a home near Brighton.

Good memories of Jack. He was an uncomprising Welsh full back who perfected the art of the sliding tackle, sometimes getting the ball and often taking the man.

According to one of our BBC posters, he says something like "Michael Hughes, an 87-year-old journeyman etc etc" referring to his Palace days....so exactly how old is he now!?
Apologies to Mike, he tried, he really did.

I think Palace TV should interview these guys before it's too late. I know it wouldn't get many shares on social media, but these old players will have great stories, and no doubt, priceless photos, contracts, handbooks and other artefacts from their time as Palace players. Often this stuff ends up getting thrown in the bin!

Another laugh out loud moment for me on the BBS.

His birthday is 29 Feb I expect so only celebrates once every four years.
