I know some Evertonians coming to the game. Any ideas for pubs near Norwood Junction. I see that the 'Spoons is now the " Shelverdine Goathouse". Is that ok for a pre match beer? Anywhere else in the vicinity ? Preferably kid friendly.
Any help much appreciated.

Since the re-furb, I think the spoons has become home fans only. Don't take my word - best check.

Really not a fan of the Shelverdine. Trying too hard to be all east London and cool.

Shelverdine Goathouse door persons have asked to see my ticket before games a couple of times.

I went in there with a mate before the city game who's son and his mate are both city fans and wearing shirts and were with my boy wearing his Palace shirt. I think they only let us come in because we were obviously together and it was kids. Pretty sure it's home only otherwise.

The Shelverdine Goat House is definitely home fans only. You normally need Palace colours or a home ticket to get in. Great choice of beers when you do.

Spoons at Thornton Heath is usually an away hangout - but they do sometimes ask for ID in my experience, so might not work for kids.

Away fans are encouraged to drink in Thornton heath. Not seen away fans n victory (the old gits) for a number of months

And Liverpool

You now have to show a ticket to get in or be a face. Bouncers at the first gate.

I was considering popping in the TH Spoons en route to the ground tomorrow but don't think I'll bother if it's going to be full of scousers.

I used to work in the office above and it was bad enough then!

Bern away fans wondering around South Norwood before a few home games moaning that all the pubs are now home fans only. Away fans need to head to Thornton Heath.
