Didn't Palace have him on our books at one point?
During the Mullery era?
I thought we signed him on a free transfer from Chelsea.
Can't remember if he ever played though.

I remember that he was a decent goalkeeper - but I can't think when I would have seen him play!

Back up keeper to Paul Barron and George Wood, I think, but I don't think he got a look in.

Back then, it was one substitute and reserve 'keepers only ever played in reserve games or the occasional friendly.

Think he played most of his games for Chelsea - brief spells at all the clubs we hate most, Chelsea, Brighton, Charlton, Villa and Shrewsbury.

I remember him. Saw him play in the reserves at selhurst several times back in the day. Think he was at end of his career when he came to us.

The closest he came to playing for us was when we had an injury crisis. George Wood was going to play up front and Phillips in goal. In the end we played two youngsters David Lindsay and Martin.
