Most people know Leicester and Chelsea have a bit of history and this seasons game saw probably more trouble than any other game at home......but,if you asked our supporters who they'd prefer to hand over the Premiership trophy to in May .....it would be Chelsea...we play Tottenham in May and everyone I know and who has expressed an opinion hope we can beat Tottenham and do Chelsea a favour in return for last seasons 2-2......

I would have liked to see them refuse, have Bastia take the kick-off and then what? Give the game to Bastia ...

I'm not even sure why I wanted Utd to beat Chelsea for today but I enjoyed them losing a little more than I should of against the wankers. Perhaps it was the presence of junior plastic swanning down for the kick off decked out in his Chelsea shirt fully expectant of a win, before retreating back to his Xbox in his room by half time with crows in his ears. Glad I raised my boys as red and blue but the junior stepson will be forever banned from selhurst park after making his choice.

What was the cause of all this nonsense (apart from idiot fans), kabbott?

wcb this is what I put on the French football thread a few minutes ago:

"Bastia (i.e. Corsica), the club/the island has a very strong nationalistic/Independent fibre. So racism and anti-French sentiment abound. There are a lot of stories between the locals and immigrants who live there. When Lille played there, Eder, the Portuguese player who scored the winning goal in the Euro final against France last summer, was cheered and applauded, whereas he is booed everywhere else he plays in France.
There's no particular history between Bastia and Lyon as far as football is concerned. Matches are always feisty affairs against Bastia because that's the way they play. They do, in a way, I suppose, represent their island every time the players run out onto the pitch. Technically they're not very good, so they make up for these failing by playing a physical game. Their "best" player in that respect is their captain called Yannick Cahuzac. He's a very limited footballer who has received so many red cards it's untrue. Then Bastia football club play the "we are the victims" paranoia card.
I was at the Lyon v Bastia game earlier on in the season. Lyon won 2:1 and Bastia finished the match with 9 players ( a red for Cahuzac and an unlucky red for their keeper).
Although French clubs' supporters rarely travel in big numbers apart from PSG, Lyon, Marseille and St Etienne, you don't very often, if ever, find any fans at the Bastia matches!"

PS The "virage" behind the goal where all the Ultras were standing was reopened today having been closed for 3 games due to racial abuse aimed at Balotelli in the Bastia v Nice game a while back.

You couldn't make it up!

Middlesbrough lose this they will need 12 points from 6 games to overtake us even if we lose all our remaining games. They still need to play Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea so if they lose this they will not overtake us.
