Aha, seems deadlines have been set this year after which fixtures can no longer be mucked about with!

The fixtures for the new season remain subject to change for different reasons across the league and one of those will be when dates and kick-off times are amended for games broadcast live on Sky Sports or BT Sport.

For planning purposes we show below the deadline dates as to when the games that have been chosen by the Broadcasters will be announced.

August to September - 10 July
October to November - 11 August
December to January - 12 October
February -12 December
March- 25 January
April - 26 February
May - 6 April
Final Day- Selected after clubs have played 37 games

Not sure why, 7 of the first 8 sky games feature teams from the top 6. Selecting big teams to play in televised games isn't exactly new.

Man United's first 5 games all televised. Newcastle fans have the hump that the longest trip in the whole Premier League (their trip to Br*ghton) has been moved to 4pm on a Sunday. In the interests of fairness, I hope they do the same to the reverse fixture :D

TV companies put the smaller clubs on more early on in the season, so that at the business end they can concentrate on the top teams, knowing they have already fulfilled their minimum obligations (minimum number of appearances) for the smaller teams

So the quote below from the club website actually means that these are the latest dates for the announcement and not the actual planned dates. First set of games were actually announced on 6th July. I originally would have expected the TV companies to want to wait until after the European group games draw before selecting the next series of TV games but with the Championship starting the week before the quietest newsday to announce the next selections could probably be Tuesday 9th August.

October and November tv changes to be announced by Friday 11th August. The July and August ones were actually announced 4 days ahead of their announcement deadline, so could quite possibly be in the next couple of days.

Only real one with real travel implications from this next tranche is Newcastle away on the 21/22 October. Fingers crossed it isn't switched to the Friday or Monday (Monday less likely as it is the scheduled League Cup midweek)

A quick Google which I presume shows road distances rather than the how the crow flies. Bournemouth marginally the furthest, just ahead of Swansea, then Brighton, followed by Southampton.

I always use the likes of cricfree or myvip via sites like wiziwig but on the whole they're poor quality.

Are there any better free options, or is it worth just stumping up a fee for one of the paid services?

Kirbs, the best way is to subscribe to a paid service now as most free ones are shocking these days.

If you subscribe to Sports donkey (50 per year) or Flawless (72.50) you will get every match live (whether on tv or not in the UK) to your phone, tablet, laptop, smart tv box using your desired app. Unless you have the patience of a Saint, then free streams are almost a thing of the past AFAIK.

Cricfree is pretty good as free ones go.Streamhunter has also been very reliable for me for a while although again the quality is not always that good and once a new season starts everything seems to go to pot with any that I use.

I do wish the idiotic, outdated 3pm tv football game rule would be lifted. Its ludicrous that any other country can watch our games and we can't.

If they offered a paid service for watching your team or something similar everyone would jump on that like the NFL does with gamepass.

I don't think it would have the impact on the lower leagues you would think. In fact if you allowed them to stream games too it would probably increase interest in those teams and then get more people to go to games.

Reports surfacing (Evening Standard) that Arsenal-Liverpool (which most of the "Christmas Eve" fuss was about) will be on the Friday night instead (22 Dec)

Really can't see Swansea-Palace being of interest to TV that weekend - the Daily Mirror thinks "Chelsea’s trip to Everton and Leicester-Manchester United will also be shown that weekend."

Palace's games against Leicester City and Arsenal in December have been altered for live television coverage.

Roy Hodgson's team's trip to the King Power Stadium on Saturday 16th December has been moved to a 12.30pm kick-off on the same day, for live transmission on Sky Sports.

However, this match is subject to possible movement again dependent upon potential Carabao Cup participation should either team make it to the quarter-finals and be selected for TV broadcasting.

Meanwhile, the Eagles' home Boxing Day clash with Arsenal has been moved to Thursday 28th December, with an 8pm start, also to be shown on Sky Sports.

This means that Palace's following game against Manchester City, scheduled for the 30th December, will also be re-arranged.

The broadcast selections for the remaining match round in December and the month of January will be announced no later than Friday 27 October.

We must have had a boxing day game at home more recently, but the last one I can actually remember* was Dowie as manager v Millwall, and that had a delayed kickoff due to ice on the covers or something.

Palace should be most concerned about the Southampton away game. If I was them I'd try everything to get it moved not to the Tuesday, but to the Wednesday night - potentially a massive game and an extra 24hrs would be beneficial

I think it might be because of Everton v Swansea on the Monday. If one of those two goes through then that game would need moving. I think that would happen on Sunday lunchtime at 12:00 but if us and Leicester lose next week we could play on the Monday night and the fixtures would swap. Should Everton (away to Chelsea) and Swansea (home to Man Utd) lose next week our match will be Saturday 12:30.

Odd they should say that????

Edited as I have realised there are actually three possible complications.

The 4 games selected by Sky could change their positions depending on which teams qualify for the 5th round of league cup but at least one game must be played on the Tuesday. So we are still almost certain to be one of the televised games.
The games at WBA v Man Utd and Bournemouth v Liverpool on Sunday and Everton v Swansea on Monday could move to Saturday and our game rescheduled to Sunday were United, Bournemouth or Everton to qualify and draw Arsenal in the cup as this could only be played on the Tuesday because Arsenal will now play Liverpool on the following Friday.

Sky still have an option of allocating another TV game on Sunday so we could still switch times to Sunday at 12:00. The Everton game would also probably move to Sunday should they beat Chelsea away in the next round and they would then play on Wednesday. This could mean that our game could even move to Monday night if both teams fail to qualify.

Southampton game will now be played on Tuesday 2 January. 7.45pm.
Not great, would have expected the game to be on Wednesday, given we play Man City on the previous Sunday.

We've been stitched up there. Ridiculous.

Doesn't look like any other changes for us in January though

......although each round of the FA Cup is a 4 day event these days

The deadline for announcing April changes is 26th Feb but there's no guarantee they'll stick to that.

Thanks for that. I've just put my flights back a couple of days to allow for Sky ******* us over.

So is Leicester date and time solid or is it still subject to change?

Speculating, but do we reckon Everton away (10/2) and Huddersfield (17/3) could be switched for TV?

Huddersfield possibly I think. And 17/3 is also cup Q/F weekend
