The center midfielder at PSV, he was instrumental for them when they won the league and still one of the standout performers last season. He's a great technician with the ball and can cut teams up with one split pass. I think him, Luka and Cabaye would really transform our creativity in the middle of the park.

As much as I love Punch we need to improve in the middle of the park hugely. Puncheon's detoriating with age, I don't feel he offers enough defensively or going forwards to hold down a first team place for a side aspiring to be in the top 10.

If Frank De Boer comes here this one may even more of a possibility of happening perhaps.

This is asking for trouble he is going to join the list of players whose names are constantly misspelled on the bbs so on those grounds, I'm out. Good player though

Good signing for them (and a snip at that price). We should be looking at bringing in this player.

Central midfield is the one place we don't need to to strengthen.

(Luka), RLC, Punch, Cabaye, McArthur...

Every other position would be much more a priority!

I'm not confident given how much Cabaye and Mac has featured this pre season. And Punch isn't good enough in my eyes.

If this is the sort of calibre that Brighton are signing, then we can definitely do better.

Don't knock it because it's Brighton mate, he's a top player and that kind of money is a real steal.

I know he's good, but we can clearly do better...

Maybe we are. I'm not that comfortable with our midfield currently.

This makes no sense. He's either a good player or he's not. The fact he may sign for Brighton has no bearing on his ability; sanity possible, but not ability.

It makes 100% sense.

Someone else would've been in for him if he's signing for a relegation-likely for 3.5m.

It doesn't always work like that does it or else decent players would never end up at promoted sides

Some embarrassed journalists by the looks of it with a few breaking the 3.5M fee. Now the latest is a record breaking fee for Brighton.

Why's no one else in for Propper?

FDeB will know him well of course so he must have some concerns or not think he's good enough to get in our side ahead of Luka, Cabeye and RLC.

All irrelevant if we continue this obsession with puncheon. Luka centre half or on the bench :jerkit::wallbash:

Similar kind of signing to Reidewaald to be honest. a bit of an unknown at Premier League level and will either be a snip or complete waste of money.

if these guys are so good, why are they leaving for 6 and 7 million to Palace & Brighton and are not being taken up by the bigger teams? seems a little strange to me.

Whys that ? The big 7 can't sign everyone can they . Every signing is a risk for us , the weeds and the bigger clubs .

Not really, I wouldn't call Defoe a risk for example. Just saying it will be interesting to see how these players turn out but probably won't be top drawer otherwise they would have been taken by the bigger clubs already.

The Argus which you would hope has reasonable contacts at the club saying that the fee is 10m and they hope to break that fro a striker.
