Republic of Ireland forward Walters, 33, is also heading for Turf Moor after Burnley agreed a fee with Stoke that could reach 3m.

Dyche stole six points off us last season. Could happen again. I'll reserve judgment for the time being.

What a signing.

Shame we are missing out these ambitious transfer targets.

May I respectfully suggest we keep our counsel and wait to see how he actually performs before we make such judgments

Yeah what a joke.... I mean it's not like players like Kevin Phillips had anything to offer!!

The arrogance of the Premier Palace fan nevers ceases to make me laugh.

I'm laughing too... at the fact that we avoided this donkey who will probably buy a bunch of Average Championship players after losing his best player. He will soon lose Gray too and Burnley fans will be treated to Ashley whatever his name is and Walters up front. Then god forbid if he happens to beatus people will be praising him for playing to his teams strengths etc.

LOL.

What a nightmare.

He's ghosted into the box for that first one.

Think we should wait to see how season pans out . Walters hasn't cost them a fortune , will do a good job , solid pro . There were only a few points between us and Burnley last season and they got 6 points against us . Hope our supporters are not becoming arrogant , that's want Pardew became . Steady progress is what we need .

I'd have happily taken him for 3m. Who would you rather look to on the bench when needing a goal? Mutch, Lee or Walters. No brainier.

62 goals in 271 appearances for Stoke. Not bad at all.

I'd have him over Puncheon

Are you mocking dyche for signing Walters? Don't be soft, he's got no fekin money, having to sell his best players. I'd sign Walters if I were him. Decent pro.

Last two seasons:

Punch- 61 starts, 2 goals
Walters- 31 starts, 9 goals

It's not as if the rest of puncheons game has compensated for this either.

Walters is a cf puncheon is a cm ffs. punch was a brilliant captain in the run in and galvanised the spirit of cpfc to see us home

i for one am glad dyche wasn't in the running and double glad his boring hoofball will only be seen at selhurst once a year.

Walters is not a CF, more of a winger, wide forward. By you're right, not really a fair comparison

Has often played no10, can also do a job as a winger or striker.

Someone posted that they'd have him come on rather than Lee or Mutch, id say I'd put him in over Puncheon as well if we're talking about that position.
