As I recall, it was 1-1 away at Br*ght*n, a League match in early October, 27,000 crowd.

Palace team, I think would have been Paul Hammond in goal, Ian Evans and Stewart Jump central defence, Peter Wall right back, Ken Sansom
left back, midfield Jimmy Cannon Paul Hinshelwood,Nicky Chatterton and Barry Silkman with Steve Perrin and Dave Swindlehurst up front.

Phil 'Noddy'Holder our sub - back in the day it was just one sub.

As I remember, the away section was a huge open terrace, lots of coins, stones and other debris being chucked between the Palace and Seaweed mobs (I don't think there was any segregation or fencing keeping us apart back then).

I think Peter Taylor, who was an absolute hero for all Palace fans back in the day (hard to believe if you only remember the dull, boring stuff he did as our boss 10 years ago!) was sold to Spurs for 200,000 only a week or so before, with Barry Silkman taking the famous number 11 shirt. :afro:
