Carrying on the Dutch theme the 33 year old was released a year early by Galatasary. Wanted by Sampdoria but could he do a job for us for 12 months?...

Why was he released? Astronomical wages I assume but if it was remotely possible (which I'm fairly certain isn't the case) of course, he's an incredible player

Wait for people to tell you he's not up to it anymore...

I'd take him in a heartbeat if wages were sensible.

Depends on if his heart would really be in it. Maybe one last chance to conquer a league he hasn't been in before?

In fairness, if you waited long enough you would be definitely be right at some stage

It wouldn't surprise me if he asked to be released. A lot of the foreign players got pretty twitchy last summer during the failed coup. It's not the most stable place even a year later. Similar deal may apply with van Persie.

Isn't he a black Hollywood actor.....why would we want him?

I read somewhere he actually paid off his own contract out of his own pocket to get away, not sure what went on

Wasn't he off the MLS?

But the question must surely be asked.

Some reports suggesting he personally paid 4.5m euros to release himself from the last year of his contract. He will be going to China for mega bucks salary.

28 games last season 5 goals and 15 assists.

Wages might be an issue though :D

Yes and tax. Footballers get an exemption here compared to the rest of us !

Sneijder is still in good form and can play 90 minutes at this level but maybe not every match. I think for a fair wage he is the right player for us. I like his attitude as well, very swashbuckling, feisty lad, all 4 feet 7 inches of him or however tall he is! :)

Sneijder would be amazing for us if we could get him in for a couple of years on a free!!!

Wishful thinking:

@Skykaveh: Wesley Sneijder is in Nice. Medical tomorrow. Free agent after leaving Galatasaray

Two hour earlier: Steve Parish arrived in Nice
