Claude, Ty etc we salute you!

Wouldn't need a Palace version. Surely not enough self obsessed, self entitled tossers amongst our support for it. "Look at us. We expected this shower of shit to win the league, although everyone else could clearly see they wouldn't. Hang on no ones looking at us what can we do?"

Arsenal TV more entertaining than Ozil.

Claude and Ty are brilliant entertainment when they lose. Claude gets so wound up and then Claude winds up Ty!

I saw something similar once with Chelsea fans outside Stamford Bridge, except they were all tourist fans on their one game a season (or ever) and the interviewer made them look stupid by asking them questions about stuff they knew nothing about!

Arsenal have not lost a game at home this season they are starting to look allot better as well, Welback is injured which means now is the time for Laczete to step up and prove his worth. West Brom are with out there best player in my opinen in Chadlie and have a bad record away from home. I expect WB to counter and play very defensive but Arsenal will be too strong and will find gaps. I can see Arsenal conceding with a counter or set piece even going behind, but not for long Arsenal 3-1

We showed them far too much respect in the first half, and by the end of the match they were hanging on to their lead. Take out a quality performance by Sanchez and Wilshere and they weren't all that at all.

Difference being we actually took the game to City and got in their faces. For the rare periods we did that to Arsenal they looked very vulnerable.

I am not suggesting they are invincible clearly they aren't however lets not beat around the bush here they are still a decent side and Leicester aside i am not entirely sure we have put an away performance in this season that would prove to be enough to turn them over. I think we clearly approach the away games in a way more conservative fashion and I think that has been seen in roy's record over the years also (I am making this up to an extent but definitely recall his away approach and record at liverpool being one of the main gripes)

If they play as well as they did at selhurst we will have a really tough job beating them. Despite the rather odd desire to claim they weren't good that night.

Do we have a "get at them" attitude in away games? We took our time in the last comparable away game at spurs. Hardly went at them from the off. This is my point about roy's approach away. He clearly knows more than me and thinks overall this will reap more benefits over the course of the season. The risk with teams like arsenal is there is always the chance they will put you away comfortably and you feel like you didn't give it a proper go.

I suspect his approach will look much more like trying to stay in the game and hoping we do something with the limited chances we create.

9Freedman9
17-01-2018, 10:31 AM

Still get to a cup final pretty much every season and finish in the top 5 something like 20 years running.

Most clubs fans would be delighted with that. It's better than what Everton or Liverpool manage for example.

Not sure how much money you can make from having big viewing figures from a YouTube 'channel' but you do wonder if Claude, Ty, Troopz and that African wierdo are on the payroll.

They must have been hanging around about an hour doing those interviews after their Swansea away night game - sod that.

Gary Neville summed them up perfectly on Sunday. “They don’t even play decent football anymore “. This has always been the get out of jail free card for them, “we’re a bit shit but just look at the football we play”. It’s true, they’re not even any good to watch anymore

I think you need to be a different type of person to support 'real' football teams like Palace, most Arsenal fans who have been going last 30 years don't know much about consistent underachievement, as there is usually a top 4 finish or a cup final every season

Must be awful supporting Arsenal.
If we lost to a team lower in the league I'd probably say well played. I hate that they think they shouldn't lose to smaller teams, I know losing to Brighton must be grim but surely you have to respect when you have been turned over.
At least if we go down I can talk to knowledgeable championship fans. Meh .

They’re desensitised to cup finals though, haven’t they won more FA cups than any other club? If those are seen as fairly routine, what else is there in supporting Arsenal nowadays? For 12 years it’s been top 4, never truly in the title race, and get knocked out in Europe before the quarters. It’s not exactly misery like some of their idiotic fans make out, but it is pretty bloody boring. Give me Palace any day, scrapping relegation in the championship one season, to fighting for promotion the next, over 12 years of the same season like Arsenal.

Arsenal consistently lost in the CL last 16, it was almost laughable.

It is probably unique in this country, but their season tickets are priced to include the 'first 7' home cup games, such is the expectation that they will have at least 4 home games in Europe and go deep in the cup. And those 7 don't include League cup games, as they arrogantly don't class it as a first team competition (and are open in this belief)

They all turned out for the final though, desperate to win it.

Contrast to CPFC's planning application, where it said that over the last 5 years the average number of home cup games is two!!

5 seasons of constantly battling relegation (often beacuse of boardroom **** ups) has become pretty boring, too. Variety is the spice of life and its bland as they come at the moment.

Football isn’t as simplistic as that. Ipswich fans aren’t happier than Forest Green Rovers fans right now, just because they’re two divisions higher.

The sense of entitlement from the Arsenal fans is staggering. Ok, they are 6th and by their standards are having a mediocre season, but under Wenger they have always been top four playing some very attractive football.

What do they expect? No team has an automatic right to be in the top four and it is inevitable that at some point they will have the odd season outside the elite.

The pressure their fans have put on Wenger is incredible. You reap what you sow. They should have backed him for what he's achieved over the years on a relatively low budget compared to the likes of City & Utd.

They seem to want him out. Be careful what you wish for, is all I'd say!

I don't know. If we were to go down, we would be disappointed and I don't think that's a sense of entitlement. Arsenal had been top 4 for a very long time but let's be honest, they're miles away from that now. I can see why that would disappoint the majority of their fans.

Wenger has had a very good run - nearly as impressive as that bastard Ferguson - but he should have left at the end of last season.
