Lazy Journalism which assumes we are 1 of the 3 Premier League teams interested as we have been linked with him before. Nevertheless.

The agent of Stefano Sturaro admits Premier League offers have arrived for the Juventus midfielder.

Sturaro is weighing up his options at Juve this summer, having come close to joining Crystal Palace in January.

Palace remain keen and agent Carlo Volpi admits they're not alone this summer.

He told calcionews24.com: "There are many interested foreign clubs, three in England, one Russian and several Chinese interests.

"But we're not ready to give up (on Juve) just now."

Good player.. only 24 still.. more of a defensive mid.. so unless we are going to use two with luka and this chap would be an odd move as he wouldn't be cheap surely

From Wikipedia. It's somewhat hyperbolic but the versatility point seems in keeping with our recruitment strategy.

A quick, hard-working, tactically versatile player, Sturaro is capable of playing anywhere in midfield, but is usually deployed as a box-to-box, central, or defensive midfielder in front of the back-line, due to his qualities as a ball-winner, as well as his solid technique, and subsequent capacity to start attacking plays after obtaining possession; he is also capable of playing as a defender, due to his physical attributes and ability in the air. Regarded as one of the most promising young footballers in the world, due to his work-rate, composure, tenacity, and ability to read the game, his playing style has drawn comparisons with compatriot and 2006 World Cup winner Gennaro Gattuso

About time we bought him, unless he's the new Gary Bennett.

Would certainly handle the physical side of the game here.

Sounds like his best position is the same one Luka and Cheek are also best in.

I think they would keep Cabaye, but try to offload Lee, MacCarthur and Mutch. Easier said than done though.

If they need to sell/offload wages before they buy then it's all down to who they can sell. There are likely to be more clubs in for Cabeye than for Lee or Mutch.

All these high profile players we are supposedly linked with, yet are being told money is tight. The next few days are going to be very exciting or become a damp squid.

Most squids are damp tbf, and usually very wet at some point, unless they're deep fried. If the squib was damp however, it would be quite the anti-climax :).

Being reported we actually bid 8.8 million for him last summer?

Most squids are wet when alive, however upon removal from the water they can become sick squid which coincidently is the value of one of our players
