Crystal Palace have eyed a move for Benfica wide man Andre Carillo, according to reports.

The Peru international, 26, was previously with Sporting Lisbon where he played more than 100 times in five seasons in all competitions.

Carillo has a wealth of Champions League experience and would certainly add to Palace's attacking flair out wide.

It has been reported that Newcastle United, Stoke City and Huddersfield Town are also keen on Carillo, who only joined Benfica last year.

There is some talk of a cut-price 6m deal but the sources saying it are not great, so best wait and see really

Is he injury prone? Averaging 20 games a season though of course it could be that there's better players at his club.

Is getting another wide man a priority? Or is this to get a schlupp like player on the right?

In a 3-4-3 I think we probably do need one more up top, seems like he can go past a defender and has some pace

Not sure where you got those figures from??

Averages 32 games in all competitions over the last 6 seasons. Including 2 seasons with 40+ games.

Quite a few sub appearances but doesn't look to be injury prone?

Hasn't quite made it at Benfica but was very good at Sporting Lisbon. Would work very well on the Right side of a front 3.

sounds like pretty much every English wide player over the last 10 years, especially if he has little end product

Benfica mate said he's a good player but it depends on the price as the risk is high as he missed a lot of football last year.

If we're looking at cheap wing cover Sheyi Ojo hasn't gone with Liverpool. A bit of a risk, but at only 20 he could be a decent shout although he hasn't had that much experience in the top flight.

We won't have conventional wingers next season. Wing backs and wide forwards.

Maybe no to the wing back position, but no reason that he couldn't play as a wide forward, he's quite creative and has a decent shot on him. Just seems like the kind of player that FdB could develop. If we sold Lee and he was available, I'd snap him up if possible.

Sorry for hijacking the thread.

Edit - He's going on loan anyway.

Is he a leader on the pitch?

Does he play guitar?

The club shop could sell Captain Carillo's Mandolins.

The left is full of players. The right has Townsend and Zaha. Lee still on the books, Williams has played wise, KaiKai good option, Belgium winter liked by FDB, Punch could play there. Really not a priority nor a player who should be blocking others and clogging the wage bill up.

We need an out and out ACM.
