Not Bwighton - they are Champions League ready :D

OK then - Brighton, Huddersfield, Swansea. But as Stumpy says, half a dozen others are probably in the mix, including us. There is always an unexpected one; mine is Swansea.

The clubs that have gone down since our first season in the Premier League (current run):

Norwich
Fulham
Cardiff City

Hull City
Burnley
QPR

Newcastle United
Norwich
Aston Villa

Hull City
Middlesbrough
Sunderland

The clubs in bold were promoted from the Championship the previous season.

So generally no great surprises other than Newcastle. Both Villa and Sunderland were overdue.

I would say definitely Not Huddersfield, they have come up with a well prepared team that plays a neat and compact passing game that has been moulded over the past season and is more suited to the premiership. But crucially have strengthened well with players that will fit well into the managers plans and system, early to say who could fall but if i was to hazard a guess possibly Brighton, Newcastle and Burnley.

So unpredictable, so many teams could drop.

At a guess, Brighton, Swansea, Huddersfield

Brighton haven't strengthened really at least not enough to sustain any fight in my eyes. Even if they got in a goalscorer who could get 15+ goals a season to give them a chance. Dunk and Bruno will struggle massively in my eyes too.

Swansea for me now face the biggest challenge having eradicated that new manager syndrome. They're about to lose their talisman for so many years who's kept them up single handedly at times with his set pieces and creativity that in my eyes is good enough for a top 4 side. With Llorente injured too that's going to set them back.

Huddersfield are still well up against it, people fancy them to stay up only because they've spent £50M. But for me the business they've done is rushed, and I'm not sure their style will actually get them positive results. I like Wagner and what he's done but I think keeping them up might be a step too much.

But realistically you could say anyone outside that top 7 could be caught in that dogfight.

I have a sneaking feeling that Stoke will struggle this year as well. Aging foundation, plus loss of a couple of what were key players over the last couple of years, plus a manager who is quite undoubtedly a ****. Would be lovely to see.

Brighton, despite their obvious Premier League infrastructure and set up, will end up with a squad which, if they're lucky, will have 2-3 quality players in it. Short stay, but the B&Bs on the coast will enjoy the trade for a year.

Think it might be Bournemouth's time as well. Huddersfield I think will grind out a bunch of draws using a tight formation and scrape through.

Of course, it could be any three from about 12. So long as it isn't us, and I see no reason right now to think (genuinely fear), that it could be.

Think Huddersfield will be this year's Bournemouth and take a lot of people by surprise. Good manager and a team that plays good football that has received a good amount of investment. Wouldn't be all that shocked to see ourselves stung by them on Saturday.

As for going down I reckon Brighton, Burnley and Swansea. Really tough to call this year though as any of the bottom 12 including ourselves could be involved.

That's Glenn Murray who couldn't get into either our or Bournemouth's Premier League teams. I love the guy, but if they're relying on his goals, then they are doomed.

Bwighton (just a bit shite,) Burnley (are basically a poor mans West Brom and won't be able to replicate that amazing home form again,) Huddersfield (the likes of Mooy and Ince are championship players imo, and then they've signed a few expensive ones from foreign leagues who will all have to hit the ground running, and that seems optimistic.)

Brighton, Huddersfield, and one middling club will implode due to off field reasons (HMRC investigation, botched takeover, sugar daddy bankrupt/dead/ etc)

PalaceForever

Burnley - I think losing Keane will be big for them. They also have Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, Everton and Man City as their first 5 away games - I wonder if they'll fall into that dreadful away form from last season and have to rely on their home form again? I just can't see them repeating the results to stay up if so.

One of either Brighton or Huddersfield - I think more likely Huddersfield as Brighton look quite organised and resilient and I think if you can maintain that over a season and make yourself hard to beat, you can sneak points here and there which can mount up. I obviously hope they sink without trace and get humiliated though.

Perhaps one of Newcastle or Swansea. I can see Benitez walking for some reason (transfer budget? a better job in Europe coming up?), then a steep downward trajectory as a result. Swansea only if Sigurdsson and Llorente leave.

I think it looks quite a tough league though this year...I think Watford, Bournemouth and Stoke will be fine. We should be ok on paper, but I'm nervous as it's a new manager and new system and you never know how that will go. Usually there's a team or two who implode so there's only really one or two spots to avoid, but this year, I think it'll be a battle for 8 - 10 clubs to keep out of the bottom 3.
