Sky sport have just shown the facilities at Brighton which even include separate dressing rooms for their Academy youngsters by age group.
I have no love for Brighton but think that it is time that we shut up about them and accept that our facilities are rubbish in comparison and must be improved now throughout the entire club.

Yes all those Palace fans saying how much better our facilities are then Brightons and how we do not need an upgrade is getting out of hand.

Long run, however, they might do - particularly their academy. I take the point that all that matters really between us and them are the matches that the first teams play against each other.

Brighton's facilities are truly excellent - they're rightly proud of them and they do put ours to shame though they do have the benefit of having a club with a lot of land in the vicinity of their city.

But yeah, crush them on the pitch and all that.

I liked the way that their training ground changing room is an exact copy of their Amex one. That way they can have a training session on how best to sit there and practice crying into their hands after every game.

A friend who my son plays with (U14) got an offer from Brighton Chelsea and Portsmouth to join. His dad said, much to my disappointment, that he had chosen Brighton as the facilities and set up was so good. :(

I've been to their training ground a couple of times to watch my son play, it is very good but you can't get anything to eat or drink so I prefer it when he plays at Worthing as at least I can have a pint.

It truly is astonishing how far they've managed to stretch Tony Bloom's 300m meat injection, compounded with mere losses of 10-20m every season henceforth.

If only we could find ourselves an equivalent benevolent pimp whose narcotic nipple CPFC could suck dry, much like the way the dependent crack whore BHAFC does, and will, for as long as pimp Tony lets it

I know for a fact they are nabbing lots of talented youngsters that would ordinarily go to Palace

There are teams lower in the leagues with great facilities. And also teams with amazing academy facilities who never give them a chance.

These things help, but it is not a simple equation.

And we don't pull the chain in the cubicles either, whether its number ones or number twos, it keeps football traditional. If I wanted to do that sort of thing I'd walk around with a feckin filofax and Costa cup!
