OUr #1 target apparently ! Anyone know anything about him !?

37 goals in nearly 150 games.. hardly prolific. Only 5ft8 so different type of striker to Benteke

Aged 23 Argentine striker, sent out on loan last season by Athletico to Seville. He scored 10 goals in all competitions for them.

Highly rated before he went to Athletico.

Has he fallen out of Tim Coe's magic laptop?

Might be able to get on loan with an agreed option price we could execute. Probably best setup if shopping abroad.

Huge potential. Hasn't fulfilled it yet but could be great in 2-3 years.

Not that great on the stat side of things, but he looks pretty sharp on the youtube videos :). The 'All 20 Goals - 2014-15' one in particular.

Edit - **** it, here it is..

This guy could be the nuts if we could actually get the ball to a striker while in the box

Indeed at about a minute in, he executes two first time shots producing goals. Benteke take note following Saturday's glaring miss.

A loan deal with a view to buy would be ideal.

Mental 90% of those goals in 6 yard box. Little fox in box striker like Hernandez. Can't see we would be interested but would be nice option especially home games.

He was pants on loan at Sevilla last season too. The Premiership is far too physical for him.

Have Palace ever got the best out of a 'flop' player in recent seasons!?

Could end up being one we can't get off the wage bill at a later date...

But sounds like we may need to gamble.

I am aware of his record. Doesn't mean he was any good though. Very over rated in my opinion and funny neither Sevilla nor Atletico want him despite his 10 goals.

3 of them were against Formentera in the Spanish Cup who is the equivalent of scoring against someone like Bromley.

Was chicharito the new Pedroza or was it the other way round!?

Either way; we bought the wrong one !

Hopefully now that dougie's back we can line up some random bargain buy foreign signings...

I'd assumed Chicharito was years before Pedroza but actually he only joined United the year before.

Pedroza is still only 26 and delighted to say he finally hit double figures last year for career goals. That's not in a season, that's his total career goals.

Apart from the one currently residing on Everton's treatment table, you mean?

Or the former youth team winger we signed from United who is now worth well over that.

Or the International striker we signed from Liverpool.

Or the young former Ajax centre back who could potentially develop into a 30M+ centre half.

No no no, he had one bad game. And based on BBS logic, that means he's a total failure and should be loaned out to a championship team. Probably.

I saw quite a bit of Vietto last season. He was neither good nor bad and that for a team that finished 4th in La Liga and was challenging for the league for 2/3rds of the season. One thing of interest to the BBS is that when Sevilla played a back 3, Vietto would often play as the wide left (or right) sided player in a front 3.

Don't be silly, clearly not good enough for the Championship. League 1 at best.

Looks like someone who could play anywhere along the front 3 which would help.

He now also has 12 career league goals at the age of 26.

Hell, let's get him (on loan), Munir, Burke and Wimmer. Sign a keeper. Change from 70m. Smashing. Glad i'm not SP.

Feel this is a pivotal week for us, transfer wise. Two games have shown up exactly what we need (TFM to RWB for example, so CB needed, more attacking options, etc). I'd love us to do all that, would end up being an outstanding window, if FDB can get them playing.

Yeah these buggers ain't cheap these days are they. Glad that we are looking mostly at youngsters with resale value finally though (Sakho aside). Dougie has to hit the ground running in a massive way to save this window.

We have no idea when the Doug's appointment was agreed and, therefore, how long the Doug has been looking at/suggesting targets?

It may well be that this has been an ongoing discussion between the Doug and SP (weeks, possibly longer) and that what we're hearing now is just the formal announcement.

This is true, good point. Hadn't considered that. I thought maybe he'd given some input to Parish about Burke and Parish had spoken to FdB. Guess we'll never hear how it came about. Palace are legendarily slow when it comes to announcements. Perhaps he never left :D

A goal every 3.5 games is decent given his age and quality of opposition, plus as others have said it's no mean feat playing and scoring for a CL place challenger in La Liga. Looks likes he could be an inside forward or potentially a more traditional no.10 if RLC is injured or pushed back deeper during the course of a match.
