Australia will go for more goals as goal difference will decide if Saudi win later ...

Surprised the Aussie players haven't suddenly received a gold plated Mercedes on their driveways......

Australia have hit the woodwork 3 or 4 times, they could well get a few more if they continue to press

Nah it'll be the Japanese heading home from Saudi Arabia with a plane full of nice presents in return for a conceding a few easy goals

FT: 2-1

Australia dominated the game, raining shots and corners. Thailand were fast and skilful on the break. Both sides lacked composure in attack.

Australia go 2nd in the group and will qualify automatically if Saudi Arabia fail to beat Japan later today. Saudi Arabia are strong at home. Japan are tough opponents, but have already qualified.

I'd be amazed if Japan even try tbh. They had their big match against us last week which they won, and now they don't need to bother.

Australia's going to have to go through the play offs now and beat Syria and Honduras. While that doesn't sound too difficult, we're pretty ******* good at letting rubbish teams walk all over us.

Saudi Arabia's odds are 2.4, which means a lot of people think the game is in the balance. If the consensus was that Japan won't bother, Saudi odds would be much lower.

I think it's hard to forecast, but will be watching. Saudi Arabia are skilful but easily slip into headless chicken mode.
