Found this at random tonight. Explains the likelihood of goals from different situations … of interest to anyone seriously interested in football and why some teams or styles work better than others.

I hadn't really thought about the value of through balls instead of crosses, but it all makes sense.

Yep was reading that our actual goals vs expected goals from a betting point if view is freakishly out of kilter, think it was 2.4 vs Burley's 0.4, f*** all consolation that that is

I was reading about one the Germans came up with which is along the lines of measuring defenders beaten.That includes dribbling and passing.Apparently it predicts the outcome of 86% of games.
