Does such a thing exist? I know emergency goalkeeper loans have happened, just wondered if it was possible.

I suspect not but don't know. Goalkeeper is a unique position - it would be unfair for an outfield player to fill in there. Not really the same in any other position. We didn't have a left back for ages...

Exactly. "Excuse me, we've got a problem in that our only striker is out for 2 months with injury. Would it be possible to take a striker on emergency loan?"
"Erm, hold on. You've know for the 3 months since the end of last season until the transfer window shut that you needed another striker and you didn't get one. The answer is no, I'm afraid"

There's no place in football for allowing emergency loans to cover for negligence.

I think if we applied for an emergency loan the footballing authorities would say no based on our pure ineptitude.

I assume we can recall Keshi Anderson?

its quite clear Parish has lost it. We actually should have 3 strikers at least... we are only trying for a 2nd and even that seemed half hearted.

There are no emergency loans for strikers.

There are no emergency loans for goalkeepers.

There are no emergency loans, full stop.

At the discretion of the FA, they may make an exception to allow a transfer to go through outside the transfer window. We are not Man United, so this rule does not apply to us.

We do, however, have a space left in our 25-man squad, and may use it to sign any player who was out of contract as of the last day of the transfer window.

Not a lot to choose between him and Ladapo IMO. Neither have shown enough to suggest that they could step up but you never know.

it has really come to this....

Imagine if by some incredible miracle we stay up this season, will the lessons have been learned?

Sadly that's it in a nutshell. We may well go down because of it.

It's a shame that a once loved player is now criticised for his time coaching at the club. Does anyone actually know if he was a bad coach, or just blame the bad form under Pardew on him among others?

Fecking Les Sealey! How were they allowed to get away with that? Then a year later they changed the rules to allow Liverpool into Europe instead of us. :veryangry

Without the massive spotlight on the game in those pre Sky, social media days the big clubs literally got away with murder. As Coppell said after the European travesty, 'We were little old Palace...who was going to listen to us?'

Noades fault, he was more interested in trying to suck up to his mate Bates and get on with the FA instead of looking after our interests.
