If anyone saw the Sheffield derby on the weekend, would have seen a very assured performance from youngster David Brooks.

He looked comfortable in both no.10 and as a winger. Still needs time to develop but would probably have a little more time on the ball in the Premiership and could be a long-term replacement for Puncheon.

Anyone else seen him, thoughts?

He was simply outstanding on the weekend.

If he plays like that every week he'll be playing for someone much bigger than us. Basing it completely on one game but I've never seen a young player find the championship that easy.

United fans reckon he's the real deal.

Maybe he doesn't like it there. He's tired of being afraid all the time.

He is a very highly thought off player that would be sought by many top clubs, does anybody think he would consider advances from a club that is on it's knees?
But the rebuilding process of CPFC must start in January without delay as unfortunately we could well be in the championship next season, we need to be researching the Foreign and Home market for promising young players as Huddersfield and Leeds have done very successfully.

This is the sort of transfer we should of been doing all our time in the prem. This kid is brilliant, was player of the tournament when England won the Toulon in the summer.

He is certainly worth a look

And he'd say 'no ta' to us. We're an utter shambles of a club. No player in their right mind would even consider signing for us.

Because he is really likely to leave a club on the up with a great manager to come to one heading in only one direction

Scored the winner with 'an incredibly composed finish' and was very impressive away at Leeds United tonight.

Yeah he did look very good last night, that finish in such a big derby away from home at his age is a big indicator he'll go onto big things. He'd make sense for us to pursue him but sadly Sheffield United are very much a club on the up and we look to be going the other way.

Some fans need to get realistic this is CPFC, someone like David Brooks is way beyond what we can attract now, these type of talented players need to be researched way before they hit the ground running if not they become out of reach for clubs like ourselves.
WE have to do far better with our scouting system both Home AND Abroad especially now that our premiership future is looking to be on the edge, this is where we need to be brave and start promoting someone like Naya Kirby into the First team squad purely on the basis to show him for now he is appreciated and figures in our plans, if not we will lose talent like him and others.
It maybe that he wont figure for now, but surely giving him a place in the squad or even on the bench with say a 10 minute cameo role will be a huge boost in his development, also is it not far more beneficial than having someone on the bench who is never going to progress with us.
It is this type of Youth development where FDB would have been in his elements and seen the long term making of CPFC, but unfortunately for me his appointment came in the WRONG division as far as we were concerned. We should have been aware when he was appointed it was going to be a THREE year project to develop the Whole club setup, but also there was bound to be pitfalls along the way in the short term, especially when we ALL know you don't have time to develop or experiment in the Premiership.
But unfortunately that is now by the wayside and a lost opportunity but must learn from that, it is more important lessons were actually learnt and also how we need to show patience with any appointment if we are to move the club forward.
