Just bought two return tickets for £50 each. Having gone for the last few seasons, definitely the best price I've had on train tickets.

Interesting ticket dilemma so I heard.

We could take 1030 tickets on a sale or return basis.

or

We could take 2060 tickets, but we have to sell 1500 or else we pay for all those we don't sell between 1030 and 1500.

2 days before Christmas, don't know which option they will go for.

Hope we take the decent pile but suspect we won't. That said for the sake of ~£15000 let's hope the club give us the benefit of the doubt and try to ensure we have the maximum chance of success in a MASSIVE game.

I'll could get one in the home end if need be but would rather not.

I know it's a long journey but if we can take 2000 to Bristol City midweek, surely we can do 1500 on a Saturday for what is now a massive game, even if it is just before Xmas.

Its 50% further for me. 3hr drive instead of a 2 hour one (which is what it is to home games).

Probably rules me out but will take a late decision based on what family are doing that Saturday.

Hopefully (if Swansea go down, not us) it will be the last time I have to pay the toll for the M4 bridge. It is free to use the bridge after the end of 2018.

I found the stadium weirdly lacking in atmosphere on my one and only visit for the 5-4. I think people were making a noice both palace and swansea but the design and perhaps size of the stadium seemed to leave it feeling muted the whole time.

Not forgetting that Saturday the 23rd is the last full day of service for the railway before Christmas as Christmas Eve is a Sunday with the lesser service and the inevitable even earlier shut down on Sunday evening. Due to this expect the Saturday trains to be rammed full with people avoiding travelling out on the Sunday.

Excellent news that the club have taken the full allocation. I think they should also drop the loyalty points and multiple phases and just go straight to 4 (or more) per person from tomorrow, as that would give them the best chance of maximising ticket sales and there's no chance that anybody would miss out. But I guess most people know by now that they can just wait for the later phases in order to buy tickets together so it wouldn't make too much difference.

Trains

Cheapest is super off peak return, allows any train but seat reservations are possible online only. Optimal is London Paddington 10:45 via Reading, return 18:29. £82.30.
If you split this ticket at Reading and Swindon, the price comes down to £74.29. Cheapest I can find right now, all the advance tickets are more money.

It is possible to do it for £65:
London Marylebone - Birmingham Moor Street
Birmingham New Street - Bristol Parkway
Bristol Parkway - Swansea

One part of ticketing website says 15:00, announcement of it on club website says 15:00, Swansea's website says 15:00 as well.

It's not on tele, so suspect it was a copy and paste job from the Leicester match.

Quite right Eddie. Credit to the club re taking the full allocation. West Ham have had similar problems with their shyster owners not taking the full allocation for recent games at Man City and Everton. After complaints from fans they have now committed to taking the full allocation for all games.
Not saying we should do the same for all games , but this years selling out of our taken allocation at Liverpool (twice) and Newcastle a full 10-14 days before the games took place surely show our calculations of demand were incorrect. The £30 limit on prices has obviously had an effect and also limits our liabilities if we don't quite sell the full amount.

It's usually the case that any tickets bought less than four working days before the match get sent up to the away ground for collection (via CPFC coach). Have collected tickets at away grounds many times this way normally worked*. It was always strange that Palace though didn't announce the cut off time online when you booked late so you didn't know if your tickets were posted out or were to be collected on matchday unless you called them.

* Twice the ticket didn't appear at the away ground but having the original CPFC ticket receipt and membership card the away ground has reprinted the ticket for me.

Don't suppose anybody knows a way of getting round the now very expensive trains?

The whole point of trains is to book in advance as prices go up so 'no' if you want one. Are there any buses from wherever you are or the official ones from Selhurst

Still selling Upper 6.

Anyone coming from Birmingham and the midlands direction it looks like there may be some rail travel problems (Cross Country trains).

Details have been announced. Very sparse service so far. Half the usual services via Bristol Parkway, no service via Chepstow (my route). They've announced ticket acceptance with every other TOC plus Arriva buses. Just hope the last train from Bristol Parkway runs!

If you know someone coming to the match from Rosslare, they buy a Rosslare to Your Place SailRail single for Ä53 while you buy a Your Place to Rosslare RailSail single for £48. Then swap travel tickets on meeting up in Swansea so that your "return" journeys are covered. End result, you pay £48 for travel instead of £82.30 (London-Swansea off-peak return).

If anyone is staying up having a party until 3am after the match and not staying in a bed in Swansea, you can buy the aforementioned RailSail single (Anywhere to Rosslare) for £48 (as opposed to the circa £55 single to Swansea from E.g. East Croydon) to cover your journey to Swansea and get the 4am MegaBus back to Victoria. Save £7 on the way up and the bus is bookable now at £15 (i.e. £63 all in)

If you're discarding the RailSail single at Swansea, drop me a PM and I'll give you a pint for it.

Ring the club. I'd be surprised if they weren't on sale on the day but you best check. In the Championship they said they wouldn't be but when I got to the ground there were about 50 Palace without tickets and they kept us to one side to wait for the queue to die down and then they let us in paying cash at the turnstyle.

Getting GROUPSAVE reduces it from £82 return pp from Paddington to £54 pp. You need 3 adults.

You might enquire about Gatwick Flyaway too which can work out at a 50% reduction but it doesn't seem to be coming up on the online booking system. It used to.

They couldn’t say if they would be on sale on the day.

Decided on the coach in the end, such a huge difference in price. Is there still no alcohol on board? And any idea what time we're due back?

No Alcohol allowed on the coaches, would think you will get back to Selhurst by about 10.30 but that depends on how long they stop
