View Full Version : Trouble after spurs game at Blue Check pub

There are videos on you tube showing a group of Palace attacking spurs fans at the Blue Check pub after Sunday's game.

Not sure what started it but it goes on for about 2 minutes and some serious punches were thrown. The videos, taken on phones, clearly show the faces of those involved. So I have a feeling they will be getting a visit from plod real soon.

Sad that this seems to be returning to football and this shows why with todays technology the chances of getting caught are very high.

Checking back, the game I was thinking about was in 77/78 in Div 2. Spurs had a lot of the Holmesdale that day - but not all of it!

They were good times and we had a pretty decent team. Not as "sanitised" but I feel privileged to have been around in those years. (75-79)

Everyman and his dog tried it on back then.... Even Lincoln City at one game. Twas a bit of an embarrassment being a Palace Lad back then. Didn't start happening "pwoper" larf until Big Mal showed up. Then the reverse was true. With the pinnacle being Cardiff and their 20 coach loads on the Whitehorse and Chelsea at Stamford in the cup. Bostock? Pah, this all started with Routledge

Wrong. It was started by people with very long memories. When the "he's here he's there, he's every feckin where Roger Hoy," went up it was inevitable that serious violence was going to erupt. Eye witnesses recall walking sticks being brutally used as weapons and terrified millennials screaming in terror as their grand fathers slugged it out. Police reported that many combatants escaped on zimmer frames before they could be arrested. The Met admit that this will be difficult because, despite the CCTV footage most of the combatants looked identical. Obese, shaved heads, florid complexions and mum and dad tatoos on their arms.
