We’d need a meteoric rise up the table for him to even consider us

And even if that happened surely he’d still set his sights towards a team with European football

Loan with an option to buy if we stay up might tempt him.

This would be incredible but won't happen in our position.

Lol. He's good enough for a top 6 club.

It would be typical of us that we will d*ck around all Jan trying to get someone like this only for them to use us as a bargaining chip to get a better deal elsewhere.

Does anyone know how many loan signings from abroad we can make? If it's at least 2 then that would be great, sign a keeper (Ronnow?) and a forward (Alcacer?) on loan and a winger permanently (Watkins from Brentford? doing extremely well, very bright future) to challenge Wilf and Andros or to even start and play Wilf up top with CB. That could actually leave us with enough cash to sign a proper left-back from abroad (no value for money in this league, although Erik Pieters would be fantastic) and flog PVA to Everton and SA.

I hope there is some truth in this rumour, but as its been said we would need to pull clear of the relegation zone if we are to tempt him, unfortunately it may just be journalists putting out stories. This guy 2/3 seasons ago at Valencia was sensational but would still be a real coup even with his drop in form at Barca, he is just the "jack in the box" striker we need to play alongside or just behind Benteke, his signing would show a real statement of intent.

International loans are different and at least weren't limited in past. I.e. Watford had loads at one point. The 2 loan limit is from another Premier League club. So I assume that also means you can loan in from lower leagues but haven't checked that. So Da Nuge is still in with a shout I reckon.

His record is insane. 1 in 3 at Valencia, 1 in 2 for Spain and even with limited appearances at Barcelona he still has a 1 in 3 record. His whole club career record is 1 in 2.43 absolutely no chance. :moo:

...and yet nowhere near the Spain squad and hasn't been for years has he?

Might see that he needs to be playing and scoring for fun in a top league if he wants any chance of going to the World Cup.

its a world cup year, he needs to play and score, it doesn't matter where he goes as long as he's in a top league scoring.

Why?

Stats on PL site - Big chances missed, the top 8 contains the top 6 clubs who create lots of chances, Watford make it into spot number 7 with 12 but in 3rd place on 18 is guess which club?

Squawka has us in 9th place for chances created, only the big 6, Southampton and Newcastle are ahead of us.

Scoring goals is our issue, but creating chances is not. A decent striker would surely think that if they are getting decent service that they will be able to convert the chances!
