In 2001/2002 both just made it. You need 10 appearances. Taylor played 9 plus 1 as a sub and Upson 10(4). Taylor was brought on as a substitute in the final match after the title had already been clinched so that he got one.

I'm sure a lot of people will know this one (albeit I've phrased it rather obscurely) but as it's FA Cup week it seems pretty topical.
Who missed a penalty in an FA Cup tie, and thus helped to achieve something that hasn't been achieved since?
ElwissAtMemphis

The only missed penalty in an FA Cup match that I can remember off-hand is Bruce Dyer's last minute one against Leeds in 1997.
I can't think what it "helped to achieve" though. It was saved by Nigel Martyn wasn't it? Is that something to do with it?

First penalty miss in a FA cup tie I can recall was Cliff Holton's in 1960something, against Bury. He went on to score a hat trick. That's never happened again.

Without wishing to speak ill of the dead, I think we would all agree that Mr Hill was not exactly a star for us, and anyone who watched him would have been amazed that he had been an international. But he had. Indeed, at one time with Ipswich he was quite a feared striker (I remember him having a field day against Palace) and during this period earned two Welsh caps. He was however born in England.

It's stange how players careers work out, I used to work with a guy who played for Carshalton at the same time as Cox. When Palace signed him he told me that he and the Carshalton management knew Palace were keeping an eye on a player, but he was surprised when we came in for Cox, who was probably their worst defender at the time, they had assumed we were watching a winger. Yet Cox eventually had a reasonable career in the lower divisions and went to the WC finals as well.

Name the player who played for Palace in the 70's who was known by his middle name, who partnered a player at international level who ( if the ex palace player had used his given first name) would have had the same name as him. As it's a big FA Cup match day, let's have a big FA Cup match question. In fact, it relates to our biggest ever FA cup match. You can't get much bigger and FA Cup than that :)
When Palace appeared in the 1990 Final against Man U, what did they achieve that no club has achieved in an FA Cup Final since, and in all probability never will?
And the answer is not something blindingly obvious like "They drew 3-3 and Ian Wright got two goals"

Certainly won't happen again in a replay as they no longer have them. The subs for both games were Madden and Wright, both english.
So we will also be the last team to name the same entire squad for an FA Cup final and replay, and they can't take that away from us.

I think we need another clue......
Two words.
First word is "Finished..."
As for the second word, the clue is that, since 1905/06, we've never again played in such a small division. Southern League (Division 2) only had 13 teams.
And, whatever it is, we very nearly did it in 1908/09, 1922/23, 1946/47, 1970/71, 1983/84 and 2004/05.
Proper seasons only, by the way (forget wartime seasons).

Something to do with the abandoned match at Lincoln in 76/77. We were winning 1-0 when it was abandoned and lost the re-arranged fixture 2-3 after being 2-0 up.
I'm pretty sure that Heppolette scored our goal in the first abandoned match. I'm also pretty sure that he'd never scored before or since so I reckon that the answer is that he's the only Palace player to have had his only first team goal expunged from the record books because of an abandonment.
Brennan scored in the re-arranged match on his debut so I guess that'll account for the other clue.
I tried to make a question out of that match earlier in this thread, but it was hard to word fairly without without giving the game away.
