I assume this is going to be treated the same as the Brighton game (high police numbers, no arthur wait, all ticket) but can anyone confirm this?

I was considering giving this one a miss but if the police presence is anything like today then I might reconsider.

Millwall have been given the entire of the Arthur Wait. Police numbers will be even greater than the Brighton game to avoid trouble like last year.

Bet there are not as many police as against the 'weed and just like last year they will do nothing about any trouble caused by Millwall. It is all too easy for them to arrest a few batty boys but when the nutters from that part of London turn up they will be hiding...

The game is all ticket

Also There have been far less problems with Millwall since they introduced the "show your passport / id to get a ticket" idea.

Hopefully it'll be a lot more like the Brighton game this year..... including the result! :)

Also the fact that Brighton only brought 4000 down, alsolast year the ratio of normal supporter to nutter was about 10-1.

Can't go now anyway as my NPLQ exam has been scheduled for that afternoon. At least it was Millwall though - the only game I'd consider missing.

Is this confirned?

If so for f*cks sake Simon/OB (whoever made the decision) if the vermin cannot be trusted not to cause trouble then ban them rather than piss off the AW season ticket holders for the second time in a few months.

It is confirmed. My AW season ticket mates have already been sent their Holmesdale tickets for the Millwa*l game I'm afraid.

Nah Jordan would rather p!ss the Palace fans off than risk upsetting his 'buddy' the Scum chairman.
Besides it guarentees a few grand in the coffers 8K @ £20 a time.

Full marks to SJ/OB I say, we need the money, I appreciate it's inconvenient for you chaps in the Arfur, but they say a change is as good as a rest!

And I do like the atmosphere we get with the whole Arfur full of scum!

Millwall will only bring 2-3000 anyway with all the ticketing restrictments. Also there hooligans are staying away after met did well getting the scum when mr bruce was in town so seems silly giving them whole stand.

I assume we will surround however many they bring with that "netting" that hemmed the seaweed in when they visited?

Any chance we can electrify it?

RichieG

I should qualify my statement above by pointing out that I had assumed they could fill most of the stand like last year.

If they only bring 3000 then they only need the usual enclosure, but if they can sell out the Arfur, then we should capitalise on the revenue opportunity.

To be fair it has long been the case that sometimes the AW is given wholly to away fans for whatever reason eg security or cash. ST's are sold on that premise, so to keep making a big song and dance about it every time it happens is a bit pointless. It is just another excuse for a few people to have a pop at SJ and the club.

Quite agree. last year, they ripped seats out and yet the police did nothing. There was one fat b*****s down the front goading the Palace fans and encoraging the nutters. We don't want the scum at Selhurst park as they cannot be trusted to behave. SJ, you are pissing me off.

I wonder if the police advice is for the arthur waite to be away support only?

Hopefully, compared with last year's fixture v Millwall, there will be -

- More Palace fans
- Fewer Millwall fans
- More Police

If the policing is anything like Brighton, I'll feel pretty safe.

Could well be a good atmosphere and good game.

However, I'm not sure whether the police will lock-in the Millwall fans at the end, like they did with Brighton.

Wouldn't it be funny if they did lock them in and announce it is "for your own safety"!

It should indeed be interesting to see. As an AW season ticket holder, my son and I have got used to being moved for certain games - Man City, Millwall, Brighton. This usually means two tickets for one, due to the inconvenience of moving.

But this time the letter offers no incentive to move (i.e. free tickets), so I might stay put.

Before you say, "why should he get free tickets?" - think about it. I love sitting in the AW; I dont like sitting at one end and the main stand has less atmosphere than the AW. Why should I be inconvenienced several times a year, so that the club can make money out of opposing fans?

If the opposing fans cannot be controlled in a certain section of the AW, then dont let them in.

I want to see who the club values more in this situation - loyal Palace season ticket holders (whose money the club already has), or the fans of an opposing club (whose money they haven’t yet got).

I guess I know the answer already.

What do you expect? You'd rather that Palace had less cash (which we desperately need) than you had to move for 1 or 2 games a season.

As said above, I think you just like an excuse to moan

I understand that it is more than advice...more along the lines of the police saying "This is what you will do..."

'More cash' doesn't come into it. Scumwall only sell to members now and get 7-8000 for home games which wouldn't fill the Arthur if every man jack of them turned up. Giving up the Arthur stinks but to leave it three quarters empty is pathetic.:grrr:

All this bollocks about giving them the AW, there were a tribe or two in the old stand for their last visit and they even made it into the Players Lounge.
It is nothing but bullshite, they can get tickets when or where ever they like :veryangry Time to make a stand and ban the animals, they were the same when I lived amongst them 40 years ago. I played against Joey Broadfoot when we were at school and he was so proud of the type supporters they had then

the idea that by giving Millwall the whole of the Arthur Waite that Palace will make money is sadly naive ...we will Lose money either through increased costs(Police,stewards...)or through under capacity(limiting the numbers of Millwall say only 2-3,000) and neutralising the rest of the Arthur

I know tickets are currently are only on sale to season tickets holders/members, is that going to be the the case all the way through to KO ?

During the summer there was an announcement that several Millwall matches would kick off earlier on police advice.A few weeks ago the Reading v Millwall game started at 12 will Palace`s be changed ?

Anerley Eagle

It kicked off at the normal time last season.

I thought that the early kick-offs applied to the games at Millwall only.

Just got my tickets and they say 3pm kick-off. It had better not be 12 noon, as I've got to drive down from Cumbria and pick Steinadler up in Oxford en route.

I was talking to a client of mine yesterday who is a fancies himself as a bit of a Millwall 'face'.

Apparently a lot of the old school nasties have given up going to The Den now because of the passport/ID thing. He cheerfully told me that they are all going on saturday and sitting in among 'Your lot', as it had proved easier for them to get tickets with the home fans.

I hope the police and stewards are ready for this - as it could, as he said "Get a bit lively"
