Leeds’ Scottish international David Hopkin could be on his way to Everton.
The out-of-favour midfielder looks likely to leave Elland Road this summer and could team up with Walter Smith at Goodison Park.
Hopkin failed to hold down a place in David O’Leary’s young side last season and has seen former Lens midfielder Olivier Dacourt join in the close season.
Leeds would want a fee of around £3million for the former Crystal Palace man.
West Yorkshire neighbours Bradford City have also been linked with the 29-year-old. Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale denied any interest from the Bantams, he has confirm that other clubs have come in for Hopkin.
Ridsdale said: “We’ve had no offer from Bradford, but we have had a couple of enquiries from clubs I am not prepared to name."
Hopkin would be an ideal replacement for England international Nick Barmby, who has refused to sign a new £25,000-a-week deal at Goodison Park.
Leeds, who have already spent £7.2million on Barmby’s former Everton team-mate, have been linked with England Euro 2000 star, but Ridsdale denied making an approach.
